NB# insole question: currently loving the 508s which come with the Ortholite insole. Those with the experience, how would you compare the NB Ortholite to something like the FP Gamechangers or similar? Is there a notable difference?
Short answer is yes. Ortholite, in my experience, is more an antifungal thing rather than providing support.

Anyone know how the #480s differ from the normal ones? If they thin out the forefoot like they do on the 440s, I may go with the regular ones. I need something thicker than the 440s and thinner than the 808s 🥴

1010 and Westgates fit that bill.

The 508s are what you're looking for. Definitely thicker than the 440s (which have amazing boardfeel but can feel too thin) but not as bulky and heavy as 808s or 1010s. Currently on them and like them a lot.

I've had a couple of pairs of 508s and still find they have thin soles. I can feel my bolts through them.

got to try on the 480s. as a 440 enjoyer they are a bit heavier due to no mesh and a more sturdy cupsole. but the look down is superb and am fairly confident they'll skate great

Okay, I am an idiot. I need a half size down for NB# shoes, now I am trying a few of them again. Do the 508 break in after a bit of walking? Breaking in, as in "mold" a bit more to the shape of my feet? And does the plastic insert around the heel get a bit softer over time? I really like these 508s and except for the insole they feel pretty great. But I have mad problems finding the right shoes.

Does anyone know if more colorways of the 480s are coming out soonish? I like how they look a lot but I won’t need skate shoes for awhile

Yah I've got both right now and the 508 feel noticeably flexier than the 440 low and the heel definitely feels softer.

Heh, it's a matter of perspective I guess. At first I felt they were too thick but now I like them.

There’s a couple posts about it a couple pages back, full length ortholite sole, uhh and a couple other minor tweaks
The regular ones are skateable I ran through a pair not that long ago, decent cupsole and skated well

Like the shoe, bummer that its close to a NB# Dunk and also has the Dunk limited release drawback.

yeah fuck limited availability bullshit if it's actually happening and not just a store saying "we only have x because this is what we ordered" in a sneaky way

I assumed they’d start out limited then become widely available. Hope they don’t try to tap into the hype beast stuff. It’s shameful what Nike has done with dunks. I’m old enough to remember when no one wanted them, back when I was in high school (04) they were like budget Air Force 1s 😅

Same dude, same. I remember there was this footwear store in the mall that sold Tiffany Dunks because at that time it wasn't super common knowledge that a small contingent of dorks really cared about specific colors of a mid selling shoe.

Having skated both multiple times as well, I have a similar experience in that I can really feel the internal structure of the soles on my heels in the 508, if that makes sense.

Not slim but not puffy like a dunk, good medium imo
