@ Nike: Take that script 'nike' off there and put that in the SB line.

@ Last Resort: Steal that colourway for your cupsole.

thanks to everybody on the fast feedback on the ex89. found them for 60% off, so i thought fuck it and ordered them. Needed to go half size up bacause they are on hte shorter side.
really hard sole and thick.
i like me a solid cupsole and think you could actually skate them if you wanted but i decided to rather keep them as chillers/ everyday shoes.
really dig the way they look and they start to get comfy.

so i'd keep it with @Watson  on the sole being too thick. so japans might raather be the skate thickness for me.

oh man these are heartbreakers

I still have a few pairs of these on ice. They skate fairly well, but you probably shouldn’t skate them every day. There’s not much to them cushioning or support wise.

I used to skate Pro Keds in the 90s a bunch and loved them.  I think they reissued them, and they kinda bombed in Australia so they were really cheap.  Love the way they look and kinda feel like Last Resorts are their spiritual successor.

This seems similar to what the Saucony Jazz Court vs Spot Bilt Sonic would be like. Both look like theyd skate great but sonic is just a little too thicc.

Any one skate saucony court shoes?
[/quote]

I know this is 4 months late, bit the spot bilt sonic are definitely skateable. Frankie Hill in Powell’’s public domain and skates street and miniramp kickflipping tf out of a 10inch wide board in some sonic hi’s so i’m pretty sure they work

Anyone down to try some Mizunos? City Wind Mid seems like a good option for the mid top cupsole squad.

I know it's played out with sneaker reseller twits and tweens, but has anyone tried to skate the NB550 or 650? Has anyone also identified that one style Tiago wore in that schoolyard mini-table line in that 'Soulja' part? Sorry for being late to the party, I can't be everywhere all at once.

Same here but at my local footlocker, I bought 2 pairs

Thickest sole Ive ever skated, ortholite cheapo soles are alright but removable if so desired

i have some 550s and got on the board a few times but they were better for everyday use for me. i kind of wish they worked for me when skating though, the sole is a tank

I hate to be the tinfoil hat guy (especially because it interferes with the messages my guardian angel delivers through the fillings in my molars)…,
But,
Doesn’t it seem like every time non skate shoes get popular with skaters, the companies jack up the price?

Club Cs used to be cheap, so did Sambas, then boom… huge price increase.
It’s kinda bullshit.

Good observe, and it feels accurate. Especially in the case of the Club Cs, but if I recollect correct the increase in price corresponded to a transfer of ownership from one holdings co. to another.
Interestingly enough, in this case it was Adidas selling Reebok to… AUTHENTIC BRANDS!
Yep; THOSE guys.
Anyway, those gems used to be had for $30 USD on the regs. RSVP to the days of me buying those things now.
I’ve got two pairs left on ice, along with a pair of the Workout Plus and after that, I’ll have to wait for the hype to die again before I can get back into some ‘boks.
Thank you, Reebok.

It's because normies copy what skaters like/wear causing demand and price to increase. At least since the 90's that seems to be the trend

Club Cs and Sambas are uber popular amongst young people these days. My brother's got a pair he wears almost every day. He is in high school, does not skate, and his closet is 75% Abercrombie. I see them around campus a lot as well.

Two good posts, I've still got a bunch of club c's. But they'll be fine on the back burner for a while

I keep seeing Jordan Air Ships for around 1/2 price here
Has anyone come across those ??  Thoughts on skating them?

Also jordan2 seems to be not so popular seen some 1/2  price ones recently at
More trendy Sneaker shops . The jordan 2 look thick as tho

For those who preferred the padded-collar skate CTAS of the early 2010s (self included!), these Star Player 76s in the non-skate line look pretty similar

https://www.converse.com/shop/p/star-player-76-unisex-low-top-shoe/A08116MP.html?pid=A08116MP&dwvar_A08116MP_color=cherry%20daze%2Fvintage%20white&dwvar_A08847C_width=standard&styleNo=A08116C&buyrec=false&pdp=true&cgid=mens-low-top-shoes&vgid=A08847C

Famous Footwear or any of those similar stores always have padded collar/tongue Chucks (mostly low and mid) all the time, skated a couple pairs and they were honestly great.

I skated mine and loved them, got the blk/red, the wht/blk and the all white with grey sole. I bend them up like a baseball glove and walk around in em before skating but tbh I’m not a board feel guy. That being said they have a great flick and grip really well. Swear I can nollie back heel better in em lol

I found Pumas that look like Nike ripoffs at the sporting goods outlet, and then I found blatant rip-offs at the hyper-market store.

Don’t know if any of them any good. I bet the Pumas are alright, but the others felt horrible when tried on.

Im too dumb to figure out how to make this drawing my profile pic.

Have skated in a couple pairs of these.  Think they used to be even cheaper, but $39.90 these days.  The canvas blew out pretty fast, but the sole and grip is pretty good for the price.

Grabbed some Samba millenniums on Depop for cheap.
They should be here in a few days.
I like the idea of skating og sambas but I know that sole is too thin for me.
Anyone skated these?
