Is this going to be one of those shoes that’s limited runs?
[close]
Yeah, but there are eight semi-confirmed colorways. So it should be easy to get a pair. I know they’re still up on a few sites. I think NB# devotees like us are the only ones checking for ‘em, so this won’t be a Dunk situation.

That’s what I’m hoping for. Here for a long time, not trying to fall in love then never have them again. XD
flat spotted 3 times in 2 weeks, other than that awesome wheels

This could be a steal if combined with the 15% off for signing up to their site. Hopefully the 480s aren’t excluded from that promo.

I’m tempted to grab the brown pair. But I’m afraid I won’t like them. Doubling up has never ended well for me. Anyone who tried these on, how do they fit compared to the 440 lows?

Also NB# listed all the shops here:

I have to go up .5 size for 1010 so are the 480 the same as the 1010 fit?
I'm going to go with my 1010 size today. I'll report back.

Question for the 440 high pals. Do you have to unlace and re lace the top of  them every time you put them on? I’m typically not a high top guy because of this. I like just slipping the shoe on and off. But debating on pulling the trigger on some 440 highs.

Okay, 480's have been out a few hours, who's got a Sizing Report for us?!

My local only stocked up to 10.5 and I'm an 11, so 'go down a half size' would be a wonderful suggestion to hear.

I don’t lace em all the way up. And I keep ‘em loose. But I like the lows cause you can slip them on easier. Highs are a chore to take off for me. So if I’m going for a quick session I don’t bother with them. Cause I try not to walk around in skate shoes.

I’ve had 10+ pairs of the 1010s but I really can’t get jiggy with the 808s. Maybe going half a size up would help, but they feel like bricks even after breaking them in from walking around and flexing the sole a ton. Like when I stand on my board, my feet get fatigued from trying to actually feel my deck or bending my foot within the shoe. Both the upper and sole are stiff as hell even for someone who exclusively skates cupsoles. I’ve had my pair for a few months now but haven’t tried skating them yet cuz I may sell or give them away while they still look fresh

Also those 480s are a robocop for me, I’ll catch y’all at the shop tomorrow

I’m old and may have different feet and needs. But! I firmly believe you gotta skate the 808 right out of the box to break it in properly. I’m on my 2nd or 3rd pair and that’s how it works best for me. I actually do not like to wear them walking around, or to the gym, etc. I only like to skate in them.

Our first 440-hi's were way too snug for me up top but once our designer re-did the step in angle of it, I find them super easy to get in and out of.  I don't go all the way to the top though and usually leave 1 unlaced at the top for my skate ones.

I don’t even use the two lace holes at the top and it does not have any effect on the shoe staying secure on foot.

I feel this. 1010 is a better chiller shoe. 808 is liek a performance skate shoe that can make my feet feel a little too supported if I’m wearing them all day at work

Which NB# do you normally skate in? Just curious. I don't like heavy shoes. If these don't work for me I'm sticking with the 440s indefinitely.

Yeah...440s I sized up, 1010/808s don't fit me at all (.5 down tts or .5 up).

TTS means fuck all when it comes to NB# in my experience.

I'm digging the look tho...between these and the forums, plenty of dunk alternatives.

Normally the 288 Sport or 272.  Sometimes the 440.  I would probably wear the 440 more if it fit my foot better.  I'm hoping that the 440 v2 wide is the perfect shoe.

Alright I got mine and have worn around for a bit, not skated.

I'm a 10 in all NB I have ever worn minus the 272, which just suck for me.

It feels like a bit more form fitting, thinner dunk with a better midsole and better toebox. My normal size feels fine they have a tad bit of room but nothing sloppy. There's a bit of arch support but nothing like the 1010. The heel foam is already breaking in nice. I normally use my Superfeet insoles in 440 and these are thick enough I probably won't at least at first. They feel thicker than that combo. They have foam in the forefoot but I can't tell yet if it's thicker than what's in the 1010, but since the 440 and 508 don't have any there it's obviously going to be thicker.

I've been back and forth between 440 and 1010 for a while and recently skated the Asics Japan S. These feel like a better version of the Japan in terms of overall thickness, fit, and feel.

Thanks for sharing your impressions! I’m fine with a little extra room, think it’s why I rock the 440H. Are they comparable to those?

I don't have any extra room in those really, but seem close. I think I'm lucky in that every NB minus the 272 fits me really well

I wouldn’t be mad at a 420 upper with the 1010 sole or even a 288 sport upper

Oh, i envy you. I'm the opposite. Most of the NB's i want beside the 272 don't fit me. I had a low fibula break years ago on my right leg and since then if the toe box isn't loose it presses down on my foot and makes my foot swell up.

The 480's are longer, narrower and pinched my foot on the sides right before the ball of my foot. Was so bummed.

880's seemed to fit ok, so i'm going to try them out. Went half size up.

My 480s arrive today. I’m hoping they fit my feet properly. Ordering shoes online is always stressful. Like someone else said, TTS really means nothing. Out of the three NB# I have, all of them fit differently. Like a 14 in the 808s are tighter than a 13 440 😂

Please forgive me If I've over looked this (dealing with horrible migraine) but what is the difference between the New Balance 480 Vs NB# 480?
