My last Tacoma (2009 sr5 4wd access cab) , I purchased in 2012, drove it for 9 years, put 100k kms on it, changed oil constantly, new tires 1x, and next to no other maintenance,  and had zero issues
I sold it last august for 65% o what I paid for it.
Tacomas have a reputation and its  earned.

I've yet to understand the value of a $10,000 tent that goes on the top of your vehicle vs a $300 tent that goes on the ground. In my experience, the tent on the vehicle is for people who want to look like they camp, but don't.

for real. also I've camped through some windy nights, I can't imagine wanting to be up in the air an extra 6-7ft more out in the open and on top of a truck haha

I've had 3 Tacomas, all have been great. I wish they had a diesel option in the US though.

RE: Rooftop tent: Had one, it was ok, but not rad to climb in and out of at night to pee. Sold it for almost what I paid for it, saved up a bit and dropped in on a 4 Wheel Camper. Game changer.
