this easily made it to my top five movies of all time list. if you liked no country for old men you are going to LOVE this movie.  I cannot recommend it enough.  it is worth paying money to rent on demand.

Watched this last night, it's so good. Cheers!

I felt weird whacking off to The Autopsy of Jane Doe, but that's usually the sign of a good movie to me.

some movies i've watched over the last week:

after the recent passing of Chuck Barris, I figured a good time to finally get around to watching this.  For those who don't know, he was the host of the dating game/gong show and sort of looked at as the godfather of trash/reality tv... in the 80's he released an autobiography claiming that all that time he was working as a CIA hitman.  this movie is based on that book... pretty good, a little slow, Sam Rockwell is great and Drew Berrymore is cute as hell.  B+

Cool Giallo film about witches, devils, evil masks, etc... pretty gory for the time period and Mario Bava's directorial debut.  Much better than the hokey american horror films in the same era.  B

This movie is... a trip.  Basically a story about a straight laced guy who takes acid for the first time, and the hilarity that ensues.  I think it's supposed to be a "scare" film, but is really just a Roger Corman-exploitation film featuring Peter Fonda, Bruce Dern, Dennis Hopper and written by Jack Nicholson (the usual cast of characters for that type of movie).  Not a great movie but definitely fun to watch.  B

Now this was a trip.  I've heard a lot about this and found it on Youtube so gave it a shot.  Really surreal horror/black comedy/kinda sci-fi-ish movie from the 80's about rich yuppies and cultish behavior, and it gets fucking weird and gross.  Pretty awesome effects done by Screaming Mad George of the punk band The Mad!  Saw a review saying it's like HR Lovecraft meets John Waters and that's pretty accurate.  Highly recommended.  I feel like Shark Tits would be all about this.  A!!

Super sleazy slasher/Giallo film by Lucio Fulci that's pretty gross and trashy, lots boobs and gore and 70's sleaze.  Good stuff in you like that kinda thing.  C

I really enjoyed this. Michael Keaton's screen presence is undeniable.

Good cult movie with an alright plot.
Soundtrack has a bunch of Pink Floyd stuff, the Daria girl is a dream and there's some cool footage of Death Valley.

thanks bea! i watched society behind your recommendation and it was funny and disturbing. there's a new chromeball up but it's not one person, it's a million skaters asked for movie, book and album recommendation and fat bill put me up on this doc. so far so good, 80s seattle street kids. look for this to inspire the 6-1 in the future.

[edit] that documentary ^ sucked farts. fat bill, you've got the tastes of a depressed pedo art fag. a few cool scenes like pseudo train 'catch outs' w/ no gear [pretty sure he only rode for a few feet] and swimming in the puget sound and a kid talking to his inmate dad [how'd get from seattle to walla walla?]. idk, the 80s were badass except those clunky skateboards.

I saw Get Out on Thursday then went back and watched it again on Saturday. I haven't seen a movie twice at the cinema since probably the Lion King.

I'm only like 30 minutes into The Nice Guys and it just might be my new top 5 movies of all time. Lost it at the protest scene

Don't know about top 5 but definitely a good movie. Ryan Gosling was hilarious. Super versatile actor. Loved the Abbott and Costello nods.

watched 'hunter/gatherer' the other night. it stars 'bubbles' from the wire as a man w/ a dream, in love w/ linda, taking scrap refrigerators for cash. it's just one laugh after another.
very strange movie, odd in a great way.

T2 was fucking awesome. I never knew about Boyle and Ewan's long time beef. Glad they got it sorted and made the sequel.

There was some things I could of picked apart but I decided to just go along with it all and enjoy the ride.

Young fathers rule too.

Interesting. I watched T2 last night and didn't like it at all. I really, really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't. I got what the producers were going for, making a film about nostalgia, but I thought it just didn't work: The jokes (or funny scenes) didn't fire, the plot was kinda predictable, and the characters weren't relatable at all. I don't know, it just didn't work out for me. I guess it makes sense that everybody from the first part turned into a loser... but I just don't want to watch a movie about it.

That being said, I guess my mistake was to watch the first part right before the second one. I was blown away at how good Trainspotting still is after all those years, so the second one obviously didn't live up to it.

The book (Porno) was kind of all over the place as well. Still, it had some masterpiece parts.

Just watched that recently and thought it was entertaining, but lacked a lot of things. I think Miles Teller is a great actor, but I'm bummed I saw, what I think is, his best role when it was my first time ever seeing him act. If you haven't seen Whiplash, I'd highly recommend it. I thought he was incredible in it. J.K. Simmons' role is very good as well. Great movie overall. I think Teller has a great future.

saw the Belko Experiment the other night - at only 1.5 hours it is worth a watch - as the trailers suggest it's basically Battle Royale in an office block

Some good bits though and the bird in it is very hot

I saw It Comes At Night last weekend and was pretty blown away.  Better yet, a good 2/3rds of the crowd seemed really pissed at the ending.  A certain young redneck man, who I can only assume was Larry the Cable Guy's illigitimate son, went as far as to yell, "WORST MOVE EVER!".

I love how in the last few years, films like this, Get Out, the Witch, and It Follows challenge the notion of what a horror movie is and turn the genre on it's head.

I just saw Baby Driver and it was pretty damn entertaining.  Lots of good action, the scenes are all choreographed to the music, and there's even a weird ATL Twins cameo in it.  Definitely recommended.

I walked out after 20 minutes of Baby Driver. That movie fucking sucks. It's LaLa Land meets Fast and Furios and I haven't seen either one of those movies but they can't suck as hard as Baby sucks. And I haven't seen that either I guess since I left early.
