Christine. I liked it, but was kinda disappointed it wasn't scarier. Any super scary recommendations? I'm thinkin Halloween, as it's one of the few horror classics I haven't seen.
Even though I don't really get scared by horror movies, I still really enjoy them.
The OG Halloween is still good, I just a saw theater showing of it a few nights back.
Halloween 3 divisive, but a pretty fun sequel too:

I've been working my way through these lists lately as well:

Re watched Brightburn tday, I really liked it.
Probably in my top 5 for the year.

Listened to a movie podcast where there was a heap of theories about the kid being purposely placed with that specific family, that his DNA has been altered to make him look human, that the other meteorites contain other alien species.
Love i when you can pull different theories from films.

I watched The Witch last night. I don't really know why I hesitated on watching this but I regret holding off on it. Easily one of the most upsetting and terrifying experiences I've had watching a movie. It got me really excited to see The Lighthouse. I give it 9 out of 10 stars.

I'm still reeling from the dread of this movie.

Yeah, Network holds up real well.
My mom saw Bryan Cranston starring in it in the play adaptation earlier this year, I was kinda jealous.

I liked Bone Tomahawk okay, and finally saw Dragged across Concrete recently.
Aside from a few cool parts, I thought most of it was pretty bad, and Vince Vaughn is one of the worst actors.

Showgirls is still great though:

I really didn't like it the first time I saw it. The second time I watched it, however, I was so shook. Definitely one of the best films of the 2010's.

I just saw The Nightingale. It’s by the woman who made The Babadook. It’s amazing but so brutal. I’m actually a little haunted by some scenes and the overall feeling but I still loved it. It’s on Hulu if anybody has Hulu.

Is that the rape/revenge movie set in colonial Australia?
If so, I'm really looking forward to it.

Oh cool, I've been wanting to see The Nightingale. Didn't realize it was on Hulu already.
Really want to see Parasite too.

Yesterday I watched The Friends of Eddie Coyle, a Robert Mitchum crime movie from the 70s, and spied this skate spot in the background of a couple scenes:

Friends of Eddy Coyle is in awesome movie.

I've been really sick so I've been on a 70's action/cop frenzy...

The Supercops-  A pretty poorly made but entertaining enough 70's cop movie based on a true story of two NYPD detectives.  Lots of thick mustaches and thinly (sometimes thickly) veiled racism that many of these movies have.  Entertaining though.

Macon County Line - Found this on amazon prime... was expecting a silly redneck/roadchase movie like White Line Fever... ended up being way, way better than that.  A pretty crazy ending, too.  Worth watching if you're sick and have amazon prime.

Shaft - Hadn't seen this movie in years, pretty great.  Classic tough guy 70's cop stuff, not the best of it's type but it's a classic.

Cotton Comes To Harlem - Pretty good, kinda goofy but lots of action. The books are way better, but it was still good.

Across 110th Street-  This movie is awesome.  Gets labeled "blacksploitation" but there's nothing 'exploitation' about it.  It's a tough, dark and gritty detective/mob movie.  Violent as hell too.  Exactly why I love this movies.

Friday Foster -  Fucking Pam Grier is in this, and she is so gorgeous in it that i had to get off the couch a few times and catch my breath.  She's reason enough to watch it... based on a comic book so kinda corny but a lot of action.  Worth it just to drool over Pam Grier.  Pam Grier.

Within the last week, I've watched a couple of movies:

1. Moonlight - Fantastic film. Probably the most human performances I've ever seen in a film. Camerawork and music are fantastic as well.
2. Rope - Hitchcock's first film using technicolor and consists of like eight shots over 80 minutes. Very long takes exasperate the tension in the room and the characters are well-drawn out. Wasn't too happy with the ending but whatever.

Hoping to see The Irishman, Parasite, Ford vs. Ferrari and Knives Out in the theater.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

It was a really good movie... but not as great as I was anticipating it to be.  Great costumes, great set, great actors/acting.  Both Leo and Pitt were great. I REALLY dug the scene at Spahn Ranch.  Considering how everybody told me how amazing the ending was, I was a little underwhelmed by it.  I knew it veered away from the true story, but I thought it was kinda typical.

Still, I LOVE that era of Hollywood so I enjoyed it thoroughly.  A little over-hyped, though.
