It comes off as boring because his style is so effortless. For me I get a vibe of relatability from Louie, and then I re watch the part like "what the fuck was I thinking I can't do any of this" where as TJ and Nyjah I know from the jump I can't do that shit.

Is comical how he can KF Manny wall ride down a three block easy like it's a bank to wall..

my soty goes to nyjah.. barely.. mainly because he derves it, not just for this years output (i know its skater of the year, but still) but for his contribution to progressing skateboarding like no other. and this year is probably his last at this level. tyshawn gets a close second, he is also the best at his thing, but having won it before it would require some extraordinary shit for him to take it again, plus having less competition. louie imo, isnt even close. there is nothing about him worth remebering, he is just a great but bland skateboarder.

kind of agree with bohemian on Louis being bland and forgettable, altho Louis' level of skating is insanely high. The only trick I can ever remember him doing (besides the ones in the new part) is a backside 5-0 fs flip out on a ledge, in a line. His style is not bad, just generic and flawless. Just a grownup skatepark kid kinda style. Not my cup of tea.

I mean, Louie� the grace, the pop, the creativity. Incredible.

I was pretty stoked on TJ, almost even accepted some of Nyjahs efforts in a weak moment, but Louie� Just blows all of that away in my book; their skating almost feel grotesque in comparison. They�re defying death while Louie defies everything else: gravity, going up those walls; space, manouvering between insanely narrow spots before or after a trick; time, by managing to squeeze together one crazy manouver after another.

What I�m trying to say is: I fucking love watching Louie skate.

notice there is a man talking on the phone at the bottom of the photo. in the video you can see clearly there is no one there at the bottom when he does it. also in the video version, there is a guy in a blue suit talking on his phone in the middle of the stairs. clown shoes think we wouldnt notice

How are you not aware that a photo is more often not the actual make that is on film? It's a story as old as time. Clown shoes is you posting this thinking they are trying to pull one over you.

I would agree with this   I’m ok with them Giving it to any of them.  Include Carlisle as well hi GX and other footy was tops.

They are all equally deserving of it but for different reasons.

The FS shove was fucked. Of the 4 SOTY favorites, Louie is by far the one whose footage I most look forward to. He doesn't pop over things like Tyshawn does, but his tricks are way more floaty/he seems to skate faster. I don't really get the push back on style, he skates fast, pops his tricks, and everything is generally landed clean. He's definitely the most well-rounded of the 4 in his trick selection and what he skates.

This and the TFunk part will get a lot of replay over the years. They're so gnarly on first watch and you immediately want to start it over from the beginning once it's over. Impeccable trick selection, insane spots, flawless top to bottom.

On the other hand, I'll probably never revisit any of those Jah parts and fat bill absolutely butchered an incredible nbd for Tyshawn. Tyshawn had insane tricks but poor execution in the editing, filming and release of those tricks.
