Mysterious new mexican MFG?
« on: November 27, 2016, 11:20:35 AM »
So, I'm hearing some shops/companies(?) are using what I think is a new(?) woodshop in Mexico to press their boards, don't really have a clear name for it yet but I think it starts with a "H""hectic" or something(?) or at least the Canadian end of the supply puts that name on them

Any one got any info on these?

hectik supply is a canadian supplier for them. from what ive heard the actual mfg is american skateboard factory. the boards feel good, ive skated two. they claim they pressed kayo and sk8mafia, but i dont think thats correct. they do use a stamp on the top similar to sk8mafias size stamp they use.

Oh interesting, and Hectik is out of MTL correct? maybe they did a run for Kayo or something but from what i understood they were bbs, the boards i've seen are kind of thick and clunky feeling, with "birds eye maple" looking veneers

From what I know,

Hectik is based out of mtl and prints on generator blanks from mexico. There are different shapes but not too similar to most dlx and etc.

this made me laugh, even though you did say " -looking", just the thought of innocently throwing bird's eye maple on some poorly finished, price point boards, or any boards for that matter. You probably don't find this funny unless you grew up in the woods or around lumber-mills or what have you.
