My parents sent me a (digital) newspaper clipping:
In my buttfucknowhere hometown a cat ran away from another cat and slipped into a cracked ventilation grid below a concrete staircase. Apparently it wouldn't/couldn't come out so the fire fighters broke (?!) part of the staircase side wall to get into the space beneath where the cat was. A fireman crept in to get the kittie and it got scared and bolted, right out the broken side and off to who knows where and its been missing since.
