Really enjoyed wrath of Becky. Really fun revenge flick. Slightly over the top but very very entertaining.

Just watched that Mia Goth movie Pearl. Holy shit that was wild and overall thought it was great. Was a great first horror flick of the season to dive into more from here

Badlands was a good watch. Martin Sheen and that girl from Carrie.

Super ill flick. Days of Heaven goes hard too.

Not a movie (well, it was a movie first) but I watched a couple of old episodes of "The Naked City" on the big screen at a museum last night. Show definitely gives you something to think about as far as humanity. I bought the whole series on dvd a while back so I'm gonna crack that open. Not too into episodic tv but it seems to fit the bill for me.  I also bought the movie "Gomorrah" and the series as I heard good things about both.

There’s also a movie that takes place between I believe season 3-4

Thanks, yeah, that def came with the box set. Heard that is good too.

Oh I had no idea but that did get suggested after it ended. Might have to add to the list

Could be interesting because almost everyone would have watched x and then pearl but really it should work out fine either way

And MaXXXine will be the third which is coming out sooner than later (but probably not this year)

Batman & Robin.

So campy. Most of Mr. Freeze’s lines are cold related puns. Alfred’s storyline is unnecessarily dramatic and pointless. Needed more Poison Ivy villainy, but overall stupid, goofy fun.
[close]
I’ve often fantasized about a version of that movie where George Clooney plays mr freeze and Arnold as Batman
[close]
With deep fake technology...
[close]

I’d be up for that! I think Clooney wasn’t on the same ol timey comic book related goofiness level of the rest of the cast and the film suffered greatly for it!! There was fun to be had! Wow, that’s too many exclamation points.
[close]

SPOILER

SPOILER

Clooney shows up as BW again in the new Flash movie

This is my only incentive to watch this movie now! I’ve not been in a movie watching mode, hence Batman & Robin - mostly stupid, seen it before.

I am not heavily invested in the DC universe, but I watched Black Adam and Aquaman both half-heartedly. I will do the same with The Flash just cause. There’s usually a few enjoyable parts of these things.

Seeing it Sunday.   Definitely opted for the comfiest seats I could find rather than the biggest screen.

Bill Burr’s Old Dads is good for what it is.   Definitely far above typical Netflix originals/ comedies, but not breaking any new ground.

New Rose Hotel was a fun watch. I understand the bad reviews but definitely enjoyed the 90 minutes of Christopher Walken and Willem Dafoe in a Japan cyperpunkish setting

got a chance to see an early screening of Saltburn last night and the movie was fuckin great. Many insanely weird moments, super entertaining throughout with great pacing the whole way through and a ton of dark humor. Solid ending too.

Has there ever been a genuinely good William Gibson adaptation? (I haven’t checked out The Peripheral yet)

The Killer was awesome. Another one I'd highly recommend if you ever enjoyed a David Fincher film

Yes!   Great Giamatti, though i couldn’t remember if Alexander Payne was justifiably cancelled or not

Not sure, but someone in my theater asked him why infidelity was such a theme in his films, and he quickly rejected that notion, running through all of his 8 films that weren’t, and beckoned them to take a look at Adrian Lynne’s films, which was a pretty hilarious retort.  He was on some Friedkin energy, standing up and walking around, taking questions from the crowd, going way overtime.  Pretty sick when you know you’re a legend and can hold court like that.  He also stayed after to meet and chat with people which was pretty cool of him, perhaps part of an apology tour after Downsizing bombed, but more probably an early bit of award season campaigning.

Oh wow completely forgot he did Downsizing.   My older brother is of the red-state/Yellowstate persuasion and look (despite never living in those types of places) and he digs that movie.

I just remember there was some issue about Payne before he got big and was doing softcores for Showtime - some actresss who didn’t want to name him yet, but it eventually came out.   It doesn’t seem like it was big enough to kill his career (and it’s hardly like that behavior has stopped)

Ps here’s a WTF moment - just saw Payne and his usual writing partner were credited writes or Jurassic Park 3 (the one from 2009)

Hocus Pocus!

Managed to catch it with a friend last night on the big screen. We both had a rough few days and it was a great pick me up.

Belly. Was absolutely shocked to see DMX play Gummo in his living room within the first 5 minutes
