slim pants were merely a blip in skateboarding history, with regular/baggy/huge being more or less the norm since the 90s. i don’t see a widespread adoption of slim or skinny pants being a thing any time soon.
i went to the park last weekend for the first time in forever and can report nu-metal styles in abundance, a surprising amount of “core” shoe brands (etnies, dc and és), with nb# easily winning the corpo shoe race - nary a nike or adida in sight.

Been rinsing my buddy (whose a journalist) because he just turned 30 and used nu-metal an example of something the kids aren't down with.

You old bitch, nu-metal is huge right now.

Polarizer boards.. if you don’t know them you’ll start seeing them. Everyone will be riding these sick lil boards
[close]

sure grandpa let’s get you to bed
[close]
They might not be wrong. There was a penny board boom a while back and a couple years ago the female rollerskate thing started coming back and has continued to grow. I can see a bunch of people who want to be kinda skate adjacent but not too mainstream or don't want to learn tricks getting them (and then 95% of them quitting when they realise you still need skill)
Those who stay will become even more insufferable than Slappy only skaters and have their own set of catchphrases like "actually it's harder to ride a polariser on flat than it is to grind a handrail" "it's more dangerous trying to carve a bank than jumping down stairs" and other things that could only make sense to people who have never done either of those other things
[close]

there's people like this already but they don't ride polarizers, they ride surfskates. i don't know if they have any catchphrases though

it's basically a 4 wheel ripstik
[close]

AA’s girlfriend rips pools barefoot on these

somehow i knew that was true before being told or even ever thinking about it...

I guess the second part is what is "slim". Compared to when pants got tight or extra baggy slim has a pretty big range (and can even be hard to tell watching old videos etc)
tech shoes were also a mere blip but they're kinda coming back a bit (or things that are trying to resemble them at least)

Just popping in to say that the bleached/shaved eyebrows trend that's been happening is the ugliest-ass shit. Uncanny valley looking MFs.

90's electronic music is gonna get huge again. Trip hop, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, all that cool Warp shit like Autechre, etc.

what about dipped board, with graphics on the side rails?

full dipped complete would be sick, for the first day. like white trucks, white hardware, by bolts, bushings, rails, and grip on an embossed white deck. It will be sick while you are in the shop taking pictures of it for IG, then 10 minutes into the first sesh, it'll look like shit.

If i had that set up I'd probably stop skating just to preserve the artifact

Even bigger wheels 60+

I think you're going to be proven right about this. extreme sizes in general. Spitfire have some 43mm and 66.6mm coming out early next year.

Top wise, I didn’t think we could get worse than the tucked in t-shirt. But I’ve been proven wrong. The crop top has entered the conversation. I know it’s been a hot summer, but that’s no excuse.

Tucked in shirts are dope. But you need the right silhouette/physique. But I prefer that over shirts that are a sweaty baggy mess.

I see a lot of people wearing like super baggy clothing so I think that's gonna make a comeback. It will be like the 90s all over again!

Crops have been in the conversation for a while now. And I think they're cool too, you just gotta be able to pull them off.

im short so t shirts normally look like dresses on me. i used to cut them but my girlfriend got me a sewing machine last christmas and i hem the length. a tailor will do this for 5 dollars. crop tops look weird when the hem eventually rolls up.
