really appreciate the focus on photos in the water gap episode. i'd never seen the shot of kris markovich by daniel harold sturt. it's definitely burned into my brain now.
according to the
chrome ball incident, markovich wasn't even planning on skating the gap that day, but sturt had a contraption all setup to cross the water when he showed up. to shoot a photo that nearly completely crops out the skater, but captures the essence in a shadow, that's wonderful. not too sure how that would fly in this day in age, but it seems like skating needs more of it.
forgot all about the dave chami photo of walker ryan's switch tre. that one still brings out the stoke much as the first time i saw it in print.
the one dern brother jumping across the gap multiple times probably inspired a new challenge for sasuke / american ninja warrior. after seeing him slice himself open, i can understand why the other brother was like "nah".
