Just saw these on the NB site. I guess they are dropping on the grey day this month whenever that is. Soccer/skate shoe hybrid. I personally wouldnt wear them but i feel like alot of people would like them.

This is interesting from a branding standpoint. Doesn’t appear to have Numeric branding. Did the designers on the main team just design a skate shoe for fun?

I know you don’t have the answers. Just thinking out loud here.

I have some low, soccer inspired adidas skate shoes and I’m convinced I’ll roll an ankle if I ever skate them. These give me the same vibe. Too low for me.

Same vibe i got from these...

How is the sizing between 440 V1 and V2?

It's basically the same for me. I'm 11 for both. The v1 is overall maybe slightly looser, especially over time and the v2 holds it shape a bit better, especially at first. v2 stay on foot more snug too which I like.

Oh I like these a lot, but you’re right they’re very unique looking and probably wouldn’t be up everyone’s alley. The deco stitching is a really nice touch.

The more I see those black 480 highs the more I like them

I thought the 480 x 303 were only for US but just found them in SkateDeluxe for the usual retail price. Pulled the trigger+ I had a €12 voucher I got for my bday yay 😁

How's the fit on the 420? I skated a pair over a year ago and can't recall if they fit large or were TTS. Wear Tested and previous post on here said they fit large and recommended 1/2 a size down.

US 9.5 on the 1010, wide foot

Plan on having these as chillers.

Thanks!

Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

Vu 440v2 just not breaking in for my liking.

Midfoot/forefoot width too snug and wore them casually for 15 hours at least already. Maybe it’s the different v3 tongue stitched in there? I dont have a wide foot

Toes also feel kinda snug in my same size as 1010

Bummed to hear this as I have my regular size 11 still in the box that I haven't tried on. Bah.

Ive been skating my first pair of 808s more now and really starting to dig them. Probably my best kickflips ever with those shoes.

Anyone else having a hard time on the 480, after being on "lighter" NB's, such as the 440 v1, or 600, or even 508?

I can't shake the feeling that the 480 feels a bit too fat and bulky. I thought boardfeel would not be an issue, but it kinda seems to be. Was hoping that they would start to break in after a few sessions, but they keep feeling stiff and heavy. I know, it's the nature of the shoe in a way and many people love it, but still.

As a comparison, I wore a fresh pair of 440 v1's today that I had had on ice for ages. They felt instantly great and the boardfeel was pretty much perfect.

It's funny. I thought I had hit a cornucopia with NB# after having a blast on so many of their models. I mean, best shoes ever in my opinion, yes -- but clearly not all of them are for everyone. Duh, I guess.

Ergo: I'm a thin shoe guy? Not that I'm into vulcs, mind you. But should prolly give the 306 a try...

Its a lil better if you put some other thinner NB insole in it instead of that weirdly dense 480 insole with the ridges on it.

It also feels better the more you skate them. One the shoe was a little worn in they started to feel less thick and bulky than at first.

I do agree with you overall though, it seems like the 480 are a lot thicker and bulkier than they look like they would be. They also don't hug your foot as tightly as the 1010s or 600s. These could either be pros or cons depending on what your preferences are.

Now there's an idea. Thanks, I'll try this. Yeah, the insole feels kinda weird, now that you mention it.
