I am trying to walk my mind over to OP’s position, but I keep getting stuck on this one point: whereas it is right & good that people be held accountable for their actions, ESPECIALLY when they are paid professionals whose likeness & persona are used to endorse/promote a brand, AND said person is potentially influential to other members of the same “community,” but how does their responsibility in the aforementioned role compare to that of an anonymous poster on an outdated forum in the dark, cobweb strewn corners of the internet?
I get why we don’t want influencers to behave in distasteful ways, and further why we don’t want the companies that support them financially to continue to do so when they transgress certain civil/social/legal boundaries, but how is this in anyway the same as what Boomer is doing with their sigs?
Explain, because I’m a dummy.
