same rotation but the idea is that the flip comes from the back foot flicking up. rodney does them in the way that's a bit clearer to see the difference. not that i don't believe in them being different tricks but if someone set that against me, i'd just do a tre flip but with a concenrate-y look on my face before and a suprise-y look on my face after. always pissed me off that in the mike-mo v shane final that shane didn't do that with the 'unpossible' just throw a 3shuv with a dangly front foot and act super stoked to land it. dork tricks don't deserve honor...

In the finale portion of his "Good and Evil" part he does some wild stuff. Super precise and technical and good style too. And he's doing it all on what looks like a 7.63 deck, which is mind-blowing to me.

I'm guessing you've tried to do a flip trick on a smaller deck like that, and my personal opinion is... it's more difficult than if you were to use a wider board.  And I'm just talking like flatground heelflip. He's flipping into handrails. Bonkers.

I saw some clip of Felipe Gustavo doing a 360 flip crook on a ledge at Chevy Chase park and it was so HD you could tell he actually does an underflip - his front foot does nothing at all but get out of the way. He's perfected it so it's not too obvious, but in that clip it was clear the "flick" comes from his back foot doing the underflip motion on the edge of the tail vs more towards the middle of the board where a 360 underflip is more often scooped. That's when I realized a lot of people are actually, and possibly not knowingly, doing undeflips, not 360 flips.
