for everyone asking about the 480 numeric, heard from my local they're dropping very soon (8/11)
I shouldn't keep spending money on shoes until Xmas but I'm really curious about the 480...

Same. They look like a nice Dunk alternative. Wonder how the skate ones are different. If they have less padding I may check out the normal ones. I want some super comfy skate shoes. Durability and board feel don’t matter to me since I’m not doing a ton of tricks due to my bad knees 🙃

4th pair of 808 in a row, got this little chunk out of nowhere. Tried to glue back in with supeglue but the fix didn't lasted too long, any suggestions for this pals?

I'd imagine shoe goo would work. Just a dab, squish the piece in, clean off the excess.

I had some old Half Cabs in the back of my closet I brought to the local today to leave there. I tried skating them out of nostalgia for a bit today after skating my old 1010 I also left. I'm surprised that I used to think they were the greatest shoe. The bulk in the rear of the shoe does nothing for stability or heel lift. You end up sitting on top of the insole rather than cupped. And I really can't pull off the tall socks flat brimmed hat with shorts aesthetic. Compared to both my completely bald soled old 1010 and my brand new one they don't even remotely compare

Are the 420s still a thing? I didn't skate  in them but they were nice for work/ chillin.

Alrighty... I've had my 10th session with 417s, and like I kinda anticipated, they dont work that well for me.
It simply does not fit my feet from ankle to mid-foot, as my ankle and midfoot is rather at best a medium width.
Durability seems to be ace, like all NB's ive had. Trying to get some 508s, or maybe try 574s, which seem to be narrow?

Rothdigga post on the previous page seems to confirm they are done. RIP

The 574 are almost identical to the 272 minus the paneling. Everything else is the same. They run a half size big on me and are fairly wide.

Been skating 574 variations for 5ish years because of 2e sizing. All but impossible to find 2e size 9 right now, I believe wide versions of numerics ceased during Covid. If any Slap Pals have an in on All Coasts or am574 in 8.5-9.5 wide please holler at me. My feet suck. As Roth said new wide 574’s coming next year but I’ll be out soon. Bought all the used pairs on eBay already, sad but true.

Wish they did the 550 but having a dunk alike is never a bad move especially when you have NB quality.

I just grabbed 2 pairs of 1010’s for $59 each. That shoe is absolute perfection.

Best travel shoe too.

Spot on. I also recently tried on my Half Cabs from a couple of years ago after skating first Etnies Joslins and then moving on to NB 440s and 508s. The Half Cabs felt fucking terrible and my feet started hurting instantly. Never going back to a) Vans and b) vulcs.

Fairly wide? They do look narrow, except in the forefoot?

I have low volume but moderately wide feet and the midfoot was less slim than I thought with the crude metric of how tight they were laced.

Bought some 574's today. For sure run big, so I had to go down a size. Width-wise they are probably a very normal medium. Can feel kinda tall in toe area. I do wear very thin socks.

First impressions after skating mostly Tiagos, and a little bit of 417s: Excellent kickflips with these. In fact, it might be the best kickflip shoe ive had. Seriously good! Not as grippy vulc as say a Nike Blazer, or Vans, which is a good thing. Overall a comfy shoe, but has hints of that... toes-slam-into-the-front thing, which I find often occur with such thin shoes.

Thanks for the review. I'm confused though, you said they run big but after sizing down your toes are hitting the front?

Yes. Typical scenario is that you miss a trick at land with your feet on the ground. Your toe jam against the front. Because of the lack of padding, its not as comfy

NB# insole question: currently loving the 508s which come with the Ortholite insole. Those with the experience, how would you compare the NB Ortholite to something like the FP Gamechangers or similar? Is there a notable difference?
