I've been skating the 440's a lot lately and have noticed an odd effect the shape of the sole has on certain tricks. Specifically the inside heel part just after the curve in the arch area seems a little more prominent than in many of my other shoes I own and it's been cause me problems with crooks mostly. Like the foot position I place needs to be modified but I keep hitting the pocket with that part of the shoe and it just gets stuck there. I think the wider heel is comfortable, but in the upcoming V2 I'm hoping the outsole is a tiny bit slimmer. It's a weird hope maybe. Other than that they seem to have the best flick of probably any other shoe I've had. I've accepted that my crooked grinds are going to be a tiny bit shorter in them.
[close]

If that's causing a problem with your crooks then your technique needs work. I've been doing them in any and every type of shoe imaginable for years and never, ever has the shoe influenced how far I grind or do that trick.
possibly. I've been doing crooks since '92 and have never had any issues, so while you may be onto something regarding my technique I find it more likely that the heel of this shoe is just more pronounced in that area as compared to most or all other shoes I've skated. But I'll still see about adjusting that back foot to compensate for that issue.

Numeric 480 Highs are on the NB website now (but not yet available)

Thank God they look horrible

Really? This is the first I've heard and seen of this shoe and it looks awesome. I'll definitely cop if I see a colourway I like. Optimally with a thin gum sole...

While I think I’ll opt out of the white leather version, I do think it’s a good looking shoe, and one I’ll certainly try at some point. I love the lows that I have, so why wouldn’t I  give the highs some love too?

They look a lot better to me than the non skate version.

Hey anyone know who to holler at for a defect? I checked the website but i didn't order the shoes directly from NB.

I never skated these and the toe is splitting a part from the sole.

Not into that 480 high, but also think the normal one is quite ugly especially with the profile around the ankle as well as the bubble around the ankle. When I thought of a potential 480 high I think a mid like the Fastbreak which is just a simple extension of the collar would make a bit more sense aesthetically and practically speaking.

those shoes might be out of the warranty period considering how worn they look, but to answer your question - the upper is delamming from the outsole - which would be considered a defect if this happened much earlier on in the shoe's life, but you probably won't be able to defect these out for a replacement considering how long you've been wearing them. From the looks of it, its pretty minor and the shoes should last you quite a while longer.

That particular colorway isn't doing it any favors tbh, they look like moon boots. I really like my 480 Reynolds, so if there's a better cw I'll def pick up the highs.

I know I sound like a broken record regarding ying/yang in EU but I was checking SkateDeluxe and they got the colors that come after (and at a higher price) but no ying/Yangs :(

You mean the white upper/black sole colorway? Just bought a pair couple of weeks ago from my local up here in Viking zone, still on ice, waiting for spring probably. Felt f*cking good on my feet.

They're not horrible looking shoes at all and for many the 480 high will scratch that itch of a cupsole high top. They can look past a couple details that may not be ideal but aren't deal breakers.

Once they do another color similar to low 480s that have already dropped, I have a feeling they'll sell well.

Especially if they do a black/gray/white or a black suede with some light trim. Jeans can cover that NB heel collar bubble easily

Just here for the new wide size 574’s. Been out of production for far too long.

Tried on some wide non-# NBs yesterday and almost cried when I realized shoes could feel truly good and not just tolerable.  I’m probably going to toss/sell my whole collection and replace them with strictly 2Es.  Will 100% be buying some wide 574s once available.

Skating without numb feet is essential. Get a shoe stretcher too it will help but damn it would be rad to be able to rock normal shoes. When I first found wide court 574 NB’s it felt like putting on a 20 year old skate shoe. Very basic. Cool to see how far the program has come. now I just need my wide sizes back.

I think the code expired, do you happen to have another one? The deals are still good I'm just wondering. Thinking about the black and brown 440s and taking the N's off
