Anyone see the new Hook Ups wheels? They pique my interest but I’m pretty stuck on STF or F4. I’d embed from IG if i knew how.

Yes, new wheels flatspot easier. I've seen many brand new flatspotted stf's, and a couple of f4. Wheels need to be ridden in.

Came across these wheels in a 2nd hand setup I got - plastic Core with a 97a exterior. Anyone know how they ride? I'm riding Bones Easy Streets V2 in 53mm.

I really like Loophole wheels and NFGMFG wheels a lot. They are exactly the same wheels just with different graphics printed. First ride, they slide like ice on glass, but start gripping better when they break in a bit. I can’t tell if it’s the temperature, or because I have F4’s on my other set up (which seem to have an unchanging slide), but they seem like they grip too much when they are heavily broken in. The other factor in that could be that the weather has changed pretty drastically over the months when I was riding them (cold, warm, rainy, dry and all combos of those).

They feel great overall though. Roll nice on light crusty streets and feel harder than 99a F4 but different than the 101a F4. Not teeth jarring

Flatspots aside, at what point do yall retire a set of wheels? I typically let my 53s get to ≤48mm before feeling the urge to swap out.

currently on 52s down to about 48 right now. gonna take them down another 4mm before i used them on a big board  tiny wheel setup.
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

54mm conical F4 at a crusty (gravel?) paved school spot w a couple yellow curbs. Felt slow and rough and constantly pushing (with bones reds).

Will going up to 55mm tablets or conical fulls make a noticeable difference? Current 20.2 riding surface versus 23 (55mm tablets) or 25 (56mm conc fulls?

I think softer wheels on gravel spots is what is necessary. Someone hooked me up with pennswood "winter tires." They're cruiser wheels which have been slimmed down with a lathe. I live in PA so we have like the worst roads I've ever been on. Shitty gravel and pot holes and whatnot. Smooth spots aren't really around but these wheels make a lot of shittier spots very rideable.

I think if you're looking at rough spots, somewhat softer wheels are the answer. Just going up a millimeter in wheel size isn't going to help as much.

Also, bones swiss might be a huge help as well.

Yep, those are the ones. Was gifted some which was super nice and I've been using them ever since. They ride way better than cruisers. Like they skate like regular wheels but are just better in the winter and way better on shitty roads which is basically all of PA, all the time.

Anyone try the Oj mini combos? Thinking of trying some out when money frees up again. Liking that they are on the wider side and curious how they compare to F4’s, speed and slide wise

Would like some new wheels for my slappy setup.

My lot is very crusty so I need something soft. But I don't want to go OJ hot juice/mini juice soft.

Debating between Ricta clouds, Keyframes and Mini Logo AWOL.

Would like to get bones atf filmers but can't find any locally. Ordering from a local shop is priority.

Super Swiss 6 🤙🏼. Degreased the outside of the bearings and the bearing seats of the wheels, but it still wouldn’t fix the issue.
