The thread on the Scheme made me think of some classic shoes I’d like to see re-issued.

Pretty sure all of these have had limited re-issues in the past, but I want them to come back. If there is already a thread on this, feel free to slap my pee-pee.

I think they made a version with a little slimmer tongue, kind of like the accel slims. I agree with you though, it’s kind of a classic in its own right.

Haha! I had these things. Thought they looked awesome but they felt so fucking stiff, heavy and those side lines were some cheap plastic. Weirdest shoes ive ever owned hands down.

Lakai teased me when they dropped Fully Flared and immediately took these away in favor of countless very meh vulc models. Good to see them coming out with some more interesting shoes lately but I want a pair of OG Manchesters in black/gum so bad.

According to Rowley’s Instagram they’re coming back - and it doesn’t look like a Vault release either. I can’t remeber who, but one of Baker’s last posts had a rider wearing them too.

Just made my day. Anyone know how it would work if Emerica reissued any of Marc Johnson’s shoes with him being on Adidas? Seems like him being on Adidas would make that a near impossibility.

From my kill/ maim/ small fortune thread:
#1 goes to Silas 1's: just fucking do it Adidas, and don't screw it up! I want them grey shits with the same quality that used to make you so good, don't cut corners don't even try to redesign it.
* emerica ed templeton 1s - i can't believe that to this day that emerica won't reissue this one (imo it's was/is on par with the marc johnson's first model). there was sooo many people rocking this shoe at the time of their release; arto basically lived in them.
* vans rowley XLT1 and the shams model - the XLT reminded me of some old-skool reeboks and the shams were basically a bulletproof half cab with a cupsole. saw some XLTs on ebay the other day but it seems like every man and his dog were bidding on them (which just proves how popular they were). bastien and ali rocked them a lot though i don't think they were fully appreciated at the time
* dukes (first shoe they put out?) - super clean design and you couldn't fuck with jeremy wray at the time (still can't). i had a pair back in the day and loved them. quality was top notch too!
* kastel - ronnie bertino's first shoe? kastel, as a brand, aged really badly but their first run of kicks was pretty tight at the time
* emerica phocus - i only found this out recently but apparently this was going to be JT's 2nd shoe after his "i'm going to skate barefoot until you make me a canvas shoe" model. jamie left emerica shortly before it was released (see page 3 of that thread for his first adio shoe which was actually based off of the phocus), but emerica released it anyway sans his name. i had just become a vegetarian at the time and was obsessed with cruelty-free shoes (still am), but most of all i just thought it was a really clean looking shoe. would still skate these in a heartbeat <3

I agree, but the construction was weird. Maybe just on the ones I bought which had that weird neoprene sleeve...the toebox was so flimsy you could see it blowing in the breeze when you skate in them.
Still...amazing looking shoe, no doubt.

E cues, Urls and tres were good skating shoes. You had to break in the sole for Ecues and Urls for a bit a week or two. The Tre and Tre AD sole was easier to break in. Loved those shoes.

Those are actually different than the tre ad, which I feel has aged much better than the original tre. I would love to see some new colorways in the AD.

Templeton 1 was so great. 2 was okay but not even as great as the 1. Wish I kept a pair.
Xlt I bought really cheap and wanted to hate them. Then I skated them and hated that I didn't hate them. They were pretty damn good. Them Templeton 1 though... so great

One from recent, the Lakai Howard XLK. I still have several pair fresh in the box that I am going to start skating again. One of Lakai's best ever. Fit was great, heel lock perfect, XLK sole excellent. Even if they did a limited run I'd be hyped and stock up.

I had at least 10 pairs of the lucas pro. My favourite skateshoe of all time. I would support a re-release. Still have one pair in grey saved. I also have one pair left of the ADV version without the toecap but those are kinda meh. I am still wondering if the shoe was very successful because it looked so different to anything on the market at the time. Anybody got some insight?

Silas1 treatment: so far ahead of the game that it didn't sell that well but if the brand had enough foresight it would now be one of their better selling models.
My guess with current Adidas SB though is that they also couldn't actually make these models to the same quality as when they were first released. All speculation of course

it is still the best example of Adidas taking some great tech and low key incorporating it into the shoe. the Sprint Skin is perfect for skateboarding and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the mesh used on the Lucas Premiere.
I still have 2 pairs of the Lucas Pro that I occassionally skate. I'd skate em more, but I dont want them to die off completely.
I was 100% down for Adidas until Away Days released... and it's not so much that the video fell flat and it has NOTHING to do with the skating... but since then the team has gotten bloated, the edits are lacking the 'soul' of their prior travel-edits, and there's more of a push towards expensive team models and less emphasis on the pro-models.

The Puigs were sick. Loved mine. One of the few shoes I've skated recently about which I have no complaints. Unfortunately, the City Cup is probably their attempt to fill the void.

Does anyone remember accels before roughly 2004 being way better? Among some other details, the toe box was longer, pointier, and had a more responsive flick. I forget exactly when, but es and a few other shoe brands started selling at malls, and after that the accel was much stubbier. The accel reissues capture that post-2004ish era, and in my opinion that is a huge bummer

Glad that lots of people said the first rowley shoe. I skated so many pairs, definitely an all time favorite. Also would like to see pretty much any iPath shoes brought back. Especially Cats with the og sole. Would also be cool with grasshoppers, locust and the yogi (Matt Field's pro model) coming back.

they rereleased them a couple years ago. i remember them being great way back, but the reissue sucked, mine were trashed after one session. like impossible to shoe goo trashed. also this was the only shoe where my foot would leave permanent sweat stains on the outside of the fucking shoe.

yeah, he even did a few ads saying how he improved them but the improvements ended up making them worse than the OGs. I'm not even hard on my shoes and one day after a sesh I bent my foot and the whole upper just separated from the sole. Would have better to just not re-release and let them die with good memories or do a 100% authentic re-release and rake in the $$$

One from recent, the Lakai Howard XLK. I still have several pair fresh in the box that I am going to start skating again. One of Lakai's best ever. Fit was great, heel lock perfect, XLK sole excellent. Even if they did a limited run I'd be hyped and stock up.

The howard XLK felt super crammed in the toe area and I had to skate them without insoles, the heel lock is ridiculous though. Guy's first XLK shoe is my personal fave and felt better the more you skated them, I remember ripped laces doing an article on them.

i'd say that, or dunk lows on their old quality, puffy tongues and not completely OTT pricing (like just up to blue box era).

They had the same sole as the first Guy Marianos - which is a great thing. Those were great, and AO made me want the ones you posted but I swear they were only out for like a season or something weird. Not as enticing as the first manchesters but still beautiful.

after a shitload of nagging, i convinced my mom to buy me these shoes, they were expensive from what i remember. summer of grade 9 going into 10 maybe? either way that part of high school where people begin to party a bit. went to a party at my friends house and the classic kid with alcoholic parents that had already started drinking in grade 7 bully type of guy hated the fact that i didn't want to drink, and that i was a skater. he took one of my brand new kircharts and lobbed it over my friends house into an alley and it landed perfectly into a shitty ditch. i didn't find this out until i was trying to go home and could only find one of my shoes. couldn't find the shoe that night, had to go and find it the next day, mother fucker took like 2 days to dry out. great shoes though, skated them for a long ass time.
same kid also ratted me out later on in the school year for stealing candy from the corner store across from our high school, and i got sent to an alternative school which turned out to be way better than the 'normal' one i previously went to.

I actually have a pair of those Adam McNatt shoes. The ones Keenan Milton said "What are these? A fucking potato?" All white with the grey sole and the signature on the bottom. They're kinda dirty but in good shape. Probably a 10.5 or 11 if you're interested. Wouldn't be asking much for them. DM if you're interested.

It seems so dumb to me they didn't make this a standard Adidas model that was always available for people who like this type of skate shoe. It doesn't fit with the "brand image" they go for I suppose. The closest I got to these were some hideous outlet Adidas neo's that had a similar toe box but were mid top. They skated very well though.
The shoe appears to be based off the vintage Adidas Zx 750 trail running shoe as well as taking cues from the dunk and other skate shoes.

i can remember being a pretty fan of both the ksl1's. i've also skated more pairs of reynolds 3's than i can even recall because for some reason i could always find them for really cheap. lastly, i wouldn't necessarily want them re-released but i'd be interested in skating a pair of reynolds 2's again because i remember they lasted me long as shit and i skated them during a window of time where i was progressing fast so maybe it is a false positive association i have when thinking of them

As a dunk guy this is the only shoe that would make me try out the three stripes for skating again. I'm pretty bummed I never got a pair of these.
It seems so dumb to me they didn't make this a standard Adidas model that was always available for people who like this type of skate shoe. It doesn't fit with the "brand image" they go for I suppose. The closest I got to these were some hideous outlet Adidas neo's that had a similar toe box but were mid top. They skated very well though.
The shoe appears to be based off the vintage Adidas Zx 750 trail running shoe as well as taking cues from the dunk and other skate shoes.

I know it retro'd as a High top but they should have just retro'd the Gino's, Mulder's, Forbe's, and Supa's as lows. Hey Nike... you still could! I would buy all of them except the Supa's for sure. I feel like you gotta rep the Knicks, Auburn, Florida, or another specific team with that colorway. Still clean for sure though.

I had these, the e-cues, the tre ads, etc. all of them were really comfortable in their own ways, and skated way better than I would think just looking at them. The Ollie’s on the tre ads were really rough for awhile tho. The e-cues were probably my favorite.

I loved these. The toe piece being stitched over that mid panel killed my pinky toe though where it overlapped. I had a couple pairs and cut lines under the bottom laces to loosen up the tension but other than that I would put these in my top 10.
If they brought them back hopefully they'd just screen on that mid panel or the toe piece.

You are right it is a great aesthetic touch to shoes, I wish there were more dipped toe sneakers. NB seems to do it with their Made in US sneakers every now and then. Those aren't skate shoes though.

i had those in the changeling colorway. they looked really funny when skated. also all in all a pretty decent shoe until the fucking sole came off in one piece. at the time all brands had massive problems with their vulc soles which made me think they must all be made at the same shitty factory. made me try a cupsoles again with emerica g-codes, which should totally be rereleased under a different name.

Well Airwalk One's were garbage quality when they originally came out in the early 90's, so it sounds like they're the same now. That stitching rips instantly from skating and then the whole side of the shoe opens up.

I was both enamored and intimidated by that PJ DC shoe at the time. The tech and price ($100?) steered me away but they looked so clean and durable. So many of PRod’s shoes intrigue me now but I couldn’t bring myself to skate Nike back then or afford them, probably. The 10 seemed to be neutrally controversial, if that makes sense. Safe, but still somewhat innovative.

I found a pair of black/red accels in like 08 on clearance at a shop that were dated 2004 and had the pointier longer toe than the current production accels. They skated amazing from what I remember. I don't know why es changed the shape but it totally ruined them for me. Accel slims are closer in shape than the "og accels". If they reverted back to that shape I'd buy them exclusively.

Absolutely agree with this. I’d also like to petition vans to marry the 112 with the salmon agah shoes. Agah tongue on the 112 body with no side stripe would be killer. But I’d still just take the regular 112 all day long. I actually saved a pair and still wear them sometimes.

I should clarify, my agreement was just in wanting the 112 Pro to be re-released. I didn't find many ugly color choices myself. I liked a lot of what was put out. I never had the mids, the only time I was looking for them came right when they were discontinued so I never got them. I look at the 114 BMX ones from time to time (probably discontinued I bet at this point) and wonder if they'd be a good skate shoe.

ha! I was the opposite; had the JTs but could never find the 50-s, it was the same outsole.
Some of the cheif's first circa models were really good too!
Also, Rowley Shams!!!! Vans slept/ sleeps so fucking hard on this model...

DC Boxer - if you know, you know. Hard to even find an image online of that shoe. These bad boyz were far and away the best shoe I've ever skated.
Etnies - Sal 23. It seems like these would sell better than the rest of the Etnies lineup combined!

Probably an odd choice but honestly I always come back to the Vans Cardiel Estilo Quattro. The dark brown colorway with Rasta laces was insane, I think that shoe nowadays would actually do decently.

These Kalis’. I think the were the Kalis 5’s?! This era of DC was so good. Mike Mo, Chris Cole, and Mikey Taylor all had really good shoes as well

"Centric" I think they were his 10th shoe. The only prob with these were the air bubble was really low in the heel so would start making contact with the ground once you wore thru the couple mm of rubber on the edge of the heel.

I skated a pair of these a few times - too small at the time but I still use the insole to this day. Agree that they were very sick.

Dug my pair out and have to say they might be better in memory. The cut is kinda wierd (at least on me) and for a cupsole you really aren't that cupped in so feels a little tippy. They'd no doubt be better if I wore the hard edge of the sole down. Same shoe in a full high or just the low could be a winner tho

Not sure if I'd skate them but I do have a soft spot for the Vox stuff. Specifically the Hewitt and Navarette shoes. Of course, I'm generally down for anything those dudes do so thus the affinity for their shoes.

Vox were alright for price at this time. A lot of vans alike models. Favs I think they were called the titan but they were like chukka pro vans wouldn't make.
Those Hewitt's remind me of the 2011-13 hufs like the huf1 vulc then the southern, Morton, choice, peppers were all sick too
