I’m right there with you. Do I think he will go there? Unlikely. Do I want him to go and hopefully land the Nollie tre, absolutely. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it never happens but I would be stoked if it does and it’s documented. Still props to Versacekid for standing on his word, so far. He hasn’t backed down one bit and seems confident.

the rail to gap he did tailslide on (sight unseen cover)... out of thousands and thousands if skaters in LA, how many have even touched that rail since? only top pros as far as i know.
the road gap on mind field was only ever touched by top pros
most of those University handrails he hit were made famous by him and his tricks on them were never really out done either even after all this time has passed.

I think this type of making claims > talking shit with each other > then either making it or bunting
is some top tier SLAP content. It's basically how things work with IRL skate crews so why not here? As long as people actually try it and admit defeat if they cant pull it, I cant fault someone for that. Sure I'd laugh in the moment, but i couldnt hold that against anyone seriously, we've all been there, thinking we could really do something and just not being able to pull it.
I think more people should say things like this, no matter the skill level. As long as the spot is decently well known so people can have an opinion on it and maybe talk some history of the spot I say its pretty cool. i feel like this leads to funny/friendly banter.
Could be a whole new thread format (forgive me if this has existed before). Like "(username here) makin' claims" or "(username here) has a claim to make"
even if its just a bunch of mediocre skaters doing basic tricks, i think the whole claim/back it up dynamic is just plain entertaining.

As for what pals would be portrayed, @versacekid420 would obviously be the lead character and @smellymoron69 has seemed to have been Versace's loudest critic so I nominate them as the main antagonist. They have very little faith in Versace getting the trick but also decided they might as well put up some money if he gets trick due to they're shittalking. Would be a satisfying plot point for the third act to see smellymoron give Versace the 500 bucks (highest offer out of anyone). I basically already proposed some supporting roles for the cast in the other thread as well (would probably be good to merge the threads):

I think bondo should be fair game. I know that there is some bondo on the run up to make it easier to get up the curb but it could be worn out by now though.

Might not be predictable the first try but it’s easy to jump out of nollie 3 flip. Just go fast enough to clear the hydrant. The main issue is hitting a crack at high speed right before you pop and getting tossed into the hydrant. Either way nollie or fakie would be nuts, but I’d much rather come at it forward than backwards myself, way more comfortable that way.

I stopped posting about it because the fun got kinda ruined for me by some people (not you though, butthash was funny) and also no one else seemed to be having fun with it anymore. Multiple people had said they wanted to see Jenkem document this and I myself thought it sounded like it could be fun to see how it could turn out. The similarity is that you need to pop out in front of you rather than just down to keep the board under your body, but I'd agree that the differences are much more pronounced. The hydrant is actually about 6 or 7 inches taller than a table. And so far from the bump for popping nollie. And when you pop nollie you miss out of half of the bump. I just hit the spot to take some additional photos and measurements. Long story short, it's a 6 foot gap to clear the hydrant and it's not a flat gap, you need to pop it, so you're traveling at LEAST 8-9 feet. The street only really drops >1 foot to the hydrant, so it's at least 18-24" in height from the take off. I'm sure someone smarter than me can do the math. The actual "kicker" is just under 6' and as mentioned previously, the Bondo is in rough shape imo. the landing is 5' wide and has a pretty significant asphalted crack, so it's not level at all. Hydrant is about 29" tall measured from the higher side of the street. I was flying solo so photos and measurements aren't as precise as they could be, but should give everyone a good idea of what we're dealing with.

But then I accidentally posted in the beatrice thread on this one and y’all know the rest. First off I wanna say it is never okay to compare Vincent Alvarez to Beatrice. It’s criminal to compare the two. Second thing I wanna say is thanks for all of the love, hate, and I told you so’s. What happened was pretty much all of what was said by Lou Stroux. I was having an “oh god what has this become” moment every day it felt like but whatever I welcomed it so it’s not really anyone’s fault other than my own which I’m not ashamed of, it’s just kind of funny. I eventually quit my job, moved to a new city, got my first “real” job and got stuck in that because I didn’t wanna fuck anything up so everything got put on the back burner and ‘everything’ including this and just skating in general and kind of fell out of touch with it for a while. A few weeks ago I started back skating more consistently and fell back in love with it because I realized I have the rest of my life to worry about work as there’s going to jobs for the rest of time. I’m only 24 and I know skating doesn’t last forever, so i appreciate it more now than I have in the past. Going to the skateparks here I’ve had people come up to me and ask about all of this and say “did you see what they said on jenkem?” To answer those questions, no I didn’t I don’t really care. I apologize to everyone up here that was actually let down and I hope everyone that donated got their money back, I was told what was raised and that’s beautiful, thank you. I never touched it or logged into that gofundme. To those who never had hope and still complain…. I hope you sort your emotions out, that’s the best way I can say it. And to Dante Bichette, I have been working on a ‘part’ (not a part of anything, just filming) since December and maybe I’ll finish it this year or early next year. I love slap for the shit hole that it is, and I welcome the shit talking, but I’m also still the same dude that’s going to give it back even with all of this in hindsight. That hydrant will always be there, I’ve heard recently from a friend of mine out there, that I need to go and see soon, that LA will never fix those sidewalks.

The first time I drove by the hydrant my first thought was damn the gap is a lot bigger than on video.
Everything about the sidewalk/street is horrible.
You’re landing into a freeway off-ramp that usually isn’t busy but can be. The intersection is after about a 1/2 mile of empty off-ramp/street that sweeps left then goes downhill before coming up slightly to this intersection. If the lights green fools are flying down the street into the hillbomb that hits grand ave and is 9/10 always red.
Both Heath and Manderson hug the sidewalk but it’s a huge one way hill with 3 lanes. The ground is worse there than any other lane.
