Title: Got any killer recipes?
Post by: Tay on February 08, 2016, 08:13:39 AM
It would be awesome if you shared them! We could have like our own little recipe book.

I Guess I'll start out. I've been making these pancakes every Sunday morning for awhile now, they're great and quite healthy as well.

1 Cup whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 tbsp butter melted
1 1/2 tbsp veggie oil

Combine ingredients in stand mixer with whisk attachment. Med heat 1/4 cup poured into skillet until bubbles rise then flip.

in b4 I'm a fascist/feminist/pc/liberal.

A salmon recipe of mine:

Coat the salmon filet in pepper, salt, brown sugar, and garlic. Next mix into a bag 1 cup of soy, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of vegetable oil, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 fresh squeezed orange. Throw the salmon into the bag and let sit for a few hours. Take it out and cook that baby up.

This is by no means my recipe but Saturday morning while scrolling through my Instagram feed I came across this recipe for ribs... sounded good so I went out to the store and made em. Super simple and easily the best ribs I've ever made. Definitely going to be a staple in my kitchen

I like this thread Tay. I'll start simple:

1. Package of bratwurst
2. Boil a few beers (more intersting beer is better; i used a pumpkin porter once that was great)
3. Bring to boil, put in brats, and then turn down heat to let simmer for 15-20 mins
3. Throw on BBQ or pan for 5-10 mins rotating often
4. Potato hot dog rolls + condiments

Kidney bean rissoles and broccoli salat

1 can of red kidney beans
1 eg
appropriate amount of onion
some cloves of garlic
a cup of oatmeal
another one of flour (maybe only a half - oatmeal, flour and sesame seeds should give the dough structure)
sesame seed - don't be too stingy
salt-N-Pepa - just push it!
thyme
powdered paprika
chili
If you feel cheeky you can add a smaller amount of feta or similar kind of cheese, but I recommend that you don't over do this.

Jam everything together with a fork or a blender, but keep keep it rather chunky and raw. Melt a rather generous amount of butter in the frying pan and ad it to the dough.
Fry in the pan on low heat in butter(make sure you add on new butter as when turn the rissoles and when you add new ones, as they suck quite a lot. )

Broccoli
Green pesto
Pine nuts (you could roast these prior on a pan)
Parmesan
Cherry tomates

If you're into raw cabbage, cut the bouquets of the broccoli and put them straight into the bowl, else cook for 2 minutes, max(remember to use the stem. Remove the outer layer to use the marrow(I consider this being amongst the finest delicacies amongst vegetables)
Marinade broccoli in pesto
Add cherry tomatos sliced in halves, pine nuts and parmesan
Concerning the parmesan, use a piece of parmesan and cut it in very fine slices - don't use it grated.

Speaking another language prior to English, it's pretty hard getting this spot on, i hope it makes sense :)

And velbekomme, as we say in Denmark!

I survive there just fine

Eggs Jim:

Well-oiled frying pan on medium heat
Cover bottom of pan with tortillas (1 big flour or 4 small corn)
Crack two eggs onto tortillas (for quicker cooking, beat the eggs with a teaspoon of water in a bowl, then pour over tortillas)
Add cheese, geated or thinly sliced (monterey jack or sharp cheddar)

You can cover and cook, or finish it off under the broiler.

Pepper and salt to taste, eat with salsa, preferably chunky

Good variations include adding avocado at the end, or grilled onions and peppers.

And no, I am not the eponymous Jim

Make some pancakes, and if you feel like it, you can add half a mashed banana, some lemon juice, oatmeal and vanilla sugar to the dough

And the killer filler

Mash some banana and some blue berries, add cashew nuts and very finely cut dark chocolate

Remember, buy organic!

I'm not sure anything beats a good curry.  Delicious, fairly simple, and yields a good amount without being too hard on the wallet.

1-2lbs cooked and diced chicken
1 large diced onion
1 946ml can diced tomato
1tbsp flour
2-3tbsp butter
1/2 jar of curry paste
500-750ml chicken stock
1 cup basmati rice

Heat up butter and fry onions in a deep pot until soft.
Stir in curry paste.
Add chicken stock, chicken, and tomato.
Reduce heat to low-medium and simmer for 1-2hrs, stirring occasionally, allowing stock to reduce.
Slowly whisk in flour to thicken if desired.
Serve over basmati rice.

Not so much a recipe but this was good steak and egg sandwich I had for breakfast
I really wanted a cheeseburger but I had this steak in the fridge and it was breakfast time and I associate steak with eggs
I get paranoid about spoiled food so I had to eat the steak right then
I put Worcestershire sauce, real cheddar cheese, an over easy egg on really shitty bread... and pepper

Hey! I have a killer recipe for lasagna! It's layered with a rich meat sauce and a creamy parmesan white sauce, plus the perfect amount of mozzarella cheese! You can find it on the cafe delites website! My advice is to use a kitchen scale when you put in the ingredients since that can drastically change the taste of your lasagna....(

I appreciate that you've only made 2 posts and one is about lasagna

A tip for anyone making pico, don’t forget to add the cumin
que traes wey, el comino va en la carne de los tacos.
"Pico de gallo" (not the real name but whatever)
1 onion
1 tomato
8 lemons
1 jalape񯍊1 serrano
About a spoonful of coriander
Lemon pepper
Garlic powder
Soy sauce
Chop them veggies, put in a bowl, add lemon juice, mix it up and let it sit in the fridge for about 10 minutes, take it out, add some lemon pepper garlic powder and a dash of soy sauce, mix it up again and take a whiff, the smell will let you know if its ready.

For people who cant handle spicy stuff, take out the serrano and make it 2 jalape񯳬 the bigger they are the milder it is, and to add flavor and a bit of gringoer taste you can add a few drops of tabasco in to the mix.

I'm saying that from experience, haha.  The one I always use is the Vont Milo Flat Kitchen Scale (https://www.vont.com/product/digital-kitchen-scale/), which I got from https://www.amazon.com/Vont-Beautiful-Measurement-Stainless-Batteries/dp/B08SW6F5SZ. Family and friends gather around the dinner table at any time for this lasagna recipe. A big warm, comforting hug within layers of pasta, tomato sauce, white sauce, and melted cheese!
