YES. This. After two surgeries on my flicking foot due to constant ankle rolls when I was younger and approaching my second week of not skating due to spraining my popping ankle. So, GOD DAMN. Fuck that scream. I writhed and yelled from spraining my ankle relatively recently attempting to nollie flip on flat. Can't imagine the pain Sheckler was in, especially considering that his livelihood has depended on him literally training to be able to skate those kind of things since he was single digits old.

Fuck ETN. I grabbed a free trial to see this. I had a few hours to kill before it began so I surfed their site to get a look at all their content. It's a bunch of horse shit and was really unsettling. Some of it was decent, but for the most part it made me throw up in mouth a little. I'm also old and have been skateboarding a long ass time, so the 'get off my lawn' old man in me can be super protective of what I think skateboarding is/should be. But fuck ETN. Take that as you may ;)

The worst was the live feed. After he went down, Chris Cole was basically tripping over his own tongue and mumble something about "we're going to see if he's ok" and then they just cut the feed. No proper closing to the broadcast or anything that would be indicative of something you paid to see; just some poor hosting and then cut to a black screen. It was almost like they'd never considered what to do in the face of a disaster to close out a show. Fuck etn.

I know it's hypocritical but that's different that's people sending in footage of bails for projects they were already working on. This like stated before had the pressure of days of promotion and hype beforehand and filming live to boot. The whole thing was a setup for disaster.

I don't get what ETN is doing wrong, aside from lacking social etiquette profiting off of Shecklers injury. The thing is I'm pretty sure Sheckler is getting paid regardless of making his trick or not, and I'm quite sure this discussion wouldn't be as much of a thing if he had actually landed it.
I agree that Hall of Meat is nothing like this event, Hall of Meat just compiles random footage of anyone that bails hard, no one's pressuring you to land tricks. If you're going to make a comparison, I'd say this is pretty similar to the Bust or Bail events, with all the pros at the event, Phelper screaming at you, the crowd huddling in, I wouldn't know which environment would be more stressful to skate under. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'd think ETN would have better health coverage and on-sight professionals to care for pro's in the case a major accident occurs, there's probably insurance and the riders safety and well-being involved within Ryan's contract. Thrasher probably wouldn't give two fucks and would capitalize on anyone getting injured or bailing for a quick web-clip. Hell, the name of the event itself expects people to fuck up, I personally don't care for this ETN thing and enjoy Bust or Bail a lot more than this.

They need to have new videos, have premiers, things like that which are new, fresh, and unavailable, like have premieres or sneak previews of videos...actually, fuck it, I still won't pay. videos of skating just aren't scares enough these days

great, now some ETN douche is going to go into the next meeting and make it like he has this great idea of what's going to make them legitimized within skateboarding.

Im 29 and I think Roger said it best "Im not going to pay for a gameshow" specially when even something like this face melters gets leaked the same day. Yo 8.125 or Eric Bragg, The ETN concept on paper is great. But its like you want people to love something that is still technically in production. Even Netflix gives you an entire season of a Netflix original series for 7.99 on top of its huge library. I think Had ETN partnered up with the industry and say offered a huge supply of skate videos on top of its original content it be worth closer to what your asking for. It also seems like you can watch everything ETN has to offer in less than a day.
I watched or TRIED to watch that stupid game show. It was Beibel and Slash. Even they were hating it. It's so lame and lacking direction and real production values. Such horseshit. I thought Brandon and Brian were going to both just vomit from disgust.

45 etn blows and it's not cause i give a shit about the subscription cost. i signed up because i like watching street league and tried watching some of the other content but the idea of live streaming from a spot just doesn't really work. thrasher has the right idea with it's at the spot type events but this they are trying to apply a 24 hour network formula to skating and it's just as lame as trying to watch the news on cnn, so much filler and corny shit.

Did anyone get a screenshot of the Nut Daily News post that says "Red Bull marketing manager admits to being 'pretty fucking shitty' at predictions" and has a screenshot of a Sheckler post of him standing at the top, the highlighted comment is Red Bull saying "YOU GOT THIS!!".
I was dying laughing at it and forgot to screenshot (it was on their story).
As far as ETN, I'm not opposed to paying for good skate content. I grew up buying every VHS and DVD that came out and always feeling like I got more than my money's worth (I bought flip sorry on VHS and watched it probably 500 times). The problem with ETN is that none of their content is good. Seeing Sheckler, Decenzo, Nyjah and Chase Web do stunts has 0 interest to me.
