Eventually every brand that wants to survive will be forced to go to Zumiez or other big mall stores if you want to profit and continue growth.  Sad truth is the core shops don't buy enough to have the brand survive.

You said FA has no choice how a distributor uses their brand, which isn't correct. They tell the distributor "don't sell to chains or we pull our shit" thus giving FA a choice in how the distributor does business.

Brands do this shit all the time, one of my locals has a nike account and isn't aloud to sell the shoes on their online store. Nike told them if we catch you selling on your online store we'll pull the account. Meaning they have control and choice in how their product is handled all the way to the consumer

That's not fair, he's a super generous person and I'm sure any small shop in Australia will tell you how much they like Mappy. It does suck though that he's still involved with fast times after the buyout, but he personally does great things utilising the shop for the melbourne community.
