Imagine you are at the pub with your mates having some beers one friday night, out of nowhere Paris Hilton or some other knockout approaches you and you take her home and blow her mind with your sexual powers (that magic place where you are just drunk enough to be in complete control but still be in the moment) the next day you are having some bacon and egg rolls with the same group of mates and you are telling your tale, one of them says “yeah it doesn’t count, you were drunk”

My boys and I count that usually, we did have to have a crew meeting on it though, so I get where it could be an issue in other crews, and get your point.

all filmers should be required to have an ignition interlock device on their cameras that everyone on the session has to be blow clean into before it turns on
Clean Cam confirmed trending in 2023.

What about when Neuralink drops will that help with doing tricks or creativity at all? Not sure exactly how it works but I’d say that won’t count if you have AI chips in your brain.

I think alcohol is especially interesting to consider since it can make you think less before acting and an essential part of skateboarding is overcoming fear and hesitation, I see where you're coming from with this question like wondering if a pro who did something gnarly while drunk would even consider doing it while sober.
Yea a landed trick is a landed trick, but when it comes to a skater's identity in my opinion the gnarliest skaters are the ones who can push themselves past the fear and perform in top form soberly, rather than being gnarly as fuck but only if they're on something. It's like who has that stable, internal mental capability versus having it be circumstancial and dependent on something external like substances.

A friend I used to skate with discounted a lot of the tricks I did while tripping/microdosing, claiming I wouldn't be able to do them sober. Problem there was that when I did skate sober and had a good session then I must have been microdosing according to him.

Agreed, this is where my opinion is at too. It's not that a trick performed under the influence doesn't count, it is still done. But maybe is  just more gnarly if the skater is master of their domain without dependence on something external (not that we will ever know). Thanks, and others that gave considered responses. To the rest, back to the big questions, like what Reynolds new shoe will be named.

My best skating has always been on drugs because I was always on drugs. I spent from 14 to 35 permanently fried.
Does my life outside of skateboarding in those years still count?

To play devil's advocate, it's also harder to keep your balance when high/drunk, so a trick could be considered gnarlier because the skater was under the influence.

But yeah, ofcourse it's gonna count. It's not like I'm suddenly able to skate a 20 stair when I'm blasted out of my mind.
