Foundation? Dope?

Ya. whats not dope about it? They gave us HK, Leo Romero, Ethan Fowler, Corey Glick, Strubing, Josh Beagle, Ronnie Creager, Corey Duffel, Ryan Spencer, Cole Wilson, Steve Olsen and like every skater ever.... They have been making videos since the beginning of videos and they ALL are good. There is a point in everyone's skate upbringing that a foundation video rocked you and you thought it was sick. Foundation gave a glick part every year since he got announced to the team. They have always produced and try through so many eras and are still finding ways to stay afloat...

Theres seriously no reason to have any hate towards this brand....

i don't think they're a "cool" brand on the level of say a sci fi or quasi or hockey in the sense that there's a coherent art direction and style to their stuff like the others have but i will say i enjoyed their whippersnappers vid way more than a lot of other videos that came out that year

Foundation has always felt like a hodge podge company...too many riders have come and gone too quickly, souvenir was only 5 years ago, and 9 of the guys in that video aren't on anymore,  to many am's put on that never went pro, todd swank is suss, his treatment of Omar salazar at the age of 14 was terrible, tightening budgets for other tum yeto projects out of spite, letting a well known rapist doing graphics and not recalling the boards lol

Whats foundations art direction and style, a moon from 35 years ago? lol

they stay a float because they sell in zumiez, considering your defence of mostly irrelevant brands (sole tech) and now toy and foundation, I come from the same era as you, but my man, maybe its time to take the stripey long sleeve off and size 30 krew slims

wtf even in 2024 Toy Machine is way more identifiable and has clearer imagery than foundation ever was/did.

just looked at foundation's website and their current run looks like the Toy Machine monster, the AH eagle, and a Gonz' drawing all had a threeway and the leftover splooge is what got screened on the boards
Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

Having art direction and having good art direction are two different things... Foundation has a vibe to their graphics, whether you like it or not is subjective

Its literally Tod Swank art. not gonz.... Swanks art is pretty gosh darn iconic in skate history just like Gonz or Templeton or Lucero or Fos.

Quasi and Scifi have none of this going on and just take pictures of donald duck off the internet and put it on some bizzaro fever dream.

upon further reflection, u and pooh drunx are right i just hate it

i tend to buy team decks over pro models just for some dumb superficial reason, and personally love the quasi proto decks and the sci fi team decks and find them more aesthetically pleasing than the F and super thick/bold lines which i admit IS a coherent look they have

Not a Foundation super fan but I don’t look at Quasi’s board graphics and think yes this is amazing. There’s nothing iconic besides maybe the Proto white square graphic and the AcidPly. Even those would still have to be around for a few more years for me to consider them iconic graphics.

except for the proto and acid ply graphic, I'd probably pick a foskco graphic over a quasi at least 80% of the time.

we all have different taste
