i've pretty much rode indys since 92 but i've tried a lot of trucks in between
I grew up on trackers which i don't remember being all bad.
Rode gullwing street shadows in 91 cuz Hensley rode them, those things turned great but they never did a good job of modernizing them, they had had that nylon baseplate that had the riser built in, wasn't practically for modernized skating.
Got my first pair of indys around this time, loved them from the start.
Around 94 need a set of trucks and got some trackers off a friend that had a car trunk shop, they were defective and never turned straight.
Tried Ventures a few times and i just always hated that delayed turn that they do.
99 or so a friend gave me a pair of OG Tensors and those things legit just didn't turn.
Around 06-07 wanted some lower trucks, got some thunder lows, felt very similar to indys but after a few weeks of grinding the kingpin stuck out past the hanger and they wouldnt grind on shitty ass New Orleans ledges.
After that got a pair of Krux downlows and those were really good i just couldnt look at those stupid inverted kingpins, looked like bad teenage smokers rindking complete.
Went back to indys and still love them, had a pair of ACEs and theyre pretty cool too just seem kinda heavy.
Now i ride indy low hollows and theyre awesome, Indys just always seemed like the most consistent truck to me.

had the exact same problem with thunders (same year now that i think of it), but on shitty Montana ledges instead of shitty New Orleans ledges.
the destructos i had ~2001 or so had suuuper low kingpins. like 3/4" at least between the axle and the top of the kingpin. i don't know if that was a fluke or intentional, but it was sick.

I've ridden plenty of other garbage so I'm obviously an indy bro, my question is how fucking fat do you have to be to get ventures to turn? I weigh 170 and had to fucking tick tack on them

Made an account just to agree.  Ventures are absolute trash if you want any turning ability at all.

I've ridden a variety of trucks and honestly prefer Thunder to Indy, though they're very comparable.

it's not about weight or breaking anything in, it's the geometry of the truck, they are designed to turn the way they do which is not very well. If you look up the history on all that stuff the reason Fausto and whoever else started Venture was to make a street truck and i guess they figure a street truck meant more stability and less turning.

One thing I noticed, is I stepped on like 15 peoples boards one day at the park to see how they felt, and they all rode tight trucks. So Im assuming most skateboarders ride tight trucks, why the fuck you complaining about turning? If you ride loose O.K. respek holmes. But Im just sayiiin.

Maybe because turning is what trucks are designed to do?

Yeah, turn 5 degrees untill you fall off cause there so fucking tight and cant keep turning. I think for alot of people it just gives the right amount of "give" so they dont fall of their board.

Rode Indys for ever. Bought a pair of ACE trucks about a year ago and I think I'll stick with 'em.. Lighter than Indys and turn better.

I've skated Indys, Krux, and Destructo. Krux and Destructo fuckin sucked and I have been Indy for life for a long time. I went on a trip once and skated my friends thunders the whole time but i dont really remember why, i really liked them but i still just skate indys. I jus like the brand honestly.

I remember having geindkings when I was a kid and snapped the kingpin skating flat ground
Owned pretty much every brand of trucks around, venture and royal are shit
Thunders are light and the grooves wear in quick for locking in on copong/round rails I think that's a good thing
Indys are heavy and take forever to wear in grooves. Currently riding doomsayer indies but will go back
To thunders most likely but to each their own

i really like thunder venture and indy. i just need to find some low indys that are like my venture 5.25 lows and i'd be set. i did ride a pair of thunders for years and they seemed great. i have venture on my main board and indy on my old school setup.

the only trucks that ever broke on me were venture.
even the steven

Some people back Indy like how feminists back Hillary. Not saying they aren't good, because they definitely are, but they aren't THE truck for everybody. Now Titan Ti-Lite, there's a third party candidate I can get behind...

Don't worry, I will sacrifice you to the Dark Lord Kramdar.

I'm only skating Indy's out of convenience, as they were literally all my local shop had. My geezer knees really would appreciate some lighter trucks right about now...

Skated thunders for the past few years, they are my favorite but i break them constantly.  Tried indys again and i went back to thunders and would break them in minimal ways every few months.  The bushing or pivot cups would blow out, bent axels, or i would bend the actual pivot cup into an oval somehow.  DLX is great and will fix whatever problem you have but i got tired of it.

I started skating ventures a few months ago and it took me a day or two to get used to the turning and now i dont mind them at all.  They arent my favorite looking trucks and i feel like people are judging me for skating ventures on an antihero, but im comfortable with my skating on them.
