Over 6ft Skaters, what is your board set up?
« on: January 24, 2022, 10:32:53 AM »
I'm a little over 6ft tall and been having a bunch of board madness recently. Currently riding a quasi 8.5 with a what is listed as a 14.5" wheelbase, but actually measures 14.375". I am also on Ace AF1 55s. Trying to decide if I want to keep skating a longer wheelbase or pick up a Quasi 8.5" with a 14.25" wheelbase, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

6ft5 size 13 feet.
Krooked 8.5 14.25wb 31.8 length, on venture 5.8s, measures more like an 8.4
Passport 8.38 14.38wb 32 length, on lurpivs, wish this one was a tad wider

6'4 about 180 Pounds here. (Edit to add size 11.5/12 shoe)

Riding a 8.38 DOA 32 Inches long with 14.25 WB
Standard Venture hi's 5.6
54mm Classic Formula Fours

I mainly skate street/ledges and a small amount of transition. I usually try to stick with 14.25 on the ventures but I have gone for longer wheelbases when riding indy or ace. Never more than 14.5 though and even that was very rare. I think it really comes down to preference and preferred terrain though.

6 foot 3, size 9.5-10

Currently on:
Chocolate G052 8.25x14x31.8 with Thunder Team Hollows
Quasi 8.25x14.25x31.75 with Indy mids

both have the same wheels and bearings. I have ridden longer boards and they can be fun for sure, but I prefer something a bit shorter and narrower.

6'6, sz 12-13 depending on the shoe, and around 200lbs

preferred dims for street
width: 8.6 - 8.75
length: 31.75 - 31.875
wb: 14 - 14.25
nose: 6.8 - 7.125
tail: 6.75 max
currently on a quasi 8.5 proto

preferred dims for transition
width: 9+
length: 32 - 32.25
wb: 14.375 - 14.5
nose: 7 - 7.25
tail: 6.75 max
currently on a polar 9.0

both on venture 6.1s but switching to forged plates asap
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

6'3", size 11ish. For me, a longer board matters more than WB. I mostly skate curbs but also some banks and mellow transitions.

6 foot. 195 pounds. Anti Hero 8.125 *32 (that’s important! I cannot deal with a short board), shoes 9.5 or 9. indies and bones 54mm.
