How many illegitimate polls are we going to continue to tolerate around here?

The answer is,

8.38 x 32.1 14.38 wb generator
Sometimes I ride any deluxe board with the green eagle dimensions.

I’m noticing that longer wheelbases work better for how I do tricks

When I came back to skating in 2020 I started out on a 23 year old 8.375 deck I had bought in San Diego in 1997 of Tommy Budjanec. Back then this was a huge plank and I didn't ever flip it because I didn't think it was possible to flip boards that large.

Anyhow, when that board broke, I wanted to get another 8.375 so I ordered an Ishod 8.375 Full, which turned out to be 8.5 and which I loved and re-learned kickflips on. From then on I rode a number of 8.5 boards but eventually sized down to 8.375 again, which I also rode for quite a while.

My current deck is an 8.25 and I love it. I was afraid my feet were too large and there would be a lot of toe/heeldrag but it turns out this is not the case so I plan to stick with 8.25s for now or even size down a wee bit, who knows.

Cheers for reading.

Other people’s Deck size doesn’t matter, Dave. Also mine is 9” but shaped like a football.

I switch between three boards depending on my mood, 8.38 popsicle, 8.75 football and a 9.6 (Jason Lee's Blind shape). A skateboard is a skateboard, as long as the trucks are loose enough I don't worry.

9.75 is me. I like everything from 8.25 up and I love polerizers.
I just can't ever look down and see anything that looks 7.75 ever again. It just transports me back to the hell years.

It is beautiful. Weight plus Speed equals stomach butterflies. At least for me.

I feel like the more magic carpet I get the less chance of primo too.

I think 8.5 x ~14.25wb is what i skate the best on. Solid, comfy, consistent.

But I've had more fun and more interesting sessions on boards like Crail's Couch and Loveseat shapes, which are something like 9 x 13.8wb football shapes; and the Black Label egg, which is similar but longer wheelbase. I had a 9" Creature popsicle with a huge wb that kicked ass and i think about that board often...

Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

I use to skate an 8" 95-04 then upped my size to 8.25" felt so much more board feeling then recently I've been riding 8,5" because fuck it stability board feel and I don't ride as much these days but I do appreciate the days where I can roll around and get a nollie flip down a small set of stairs

I usually buy an 8.5 x 14.6 wb and use my grinding wheel to narrow it down, especially at the tail and nose to about 7.63. Ymmv but it offers more control for me as i’m 5’11.5 with size 7 shoes.

For like the last 8 years I haven't known my board size. The way I pick a deck is just by standing on it in the shop and feeling it out and pick the one that has the best feel. More people should do it this way, no chance ever of getting something you don't like.

Since I'm 6'5 with a size 13 shoe. I found that an 8.75 popsicle shape is the best size board for me to skate.

So do you just actively ignore the sticker with the size labeled on it lol?

I ride the deluxe 8.75, 14.6 wb feels awesome. I feel that I'd be happy on their 8.6 shape too.

Did it feel awkward dropping back down in sizes? I also started back skating in 2020 after being away for years and my 8.0 felt unstable. I started moving up in sizes and landed at 8.5. Obviously my balance and reflexes are a lot slower in my mid-40s than 20 years ago. But I’ve been considering dropping back to 8.25 since i I’ve been skating for a couple of years now.

I got some narrower trucks and some wider trucks, covers all angles.
