any one got a opinion on DC legacy 98 slim SE?
« on: September 26, 2019, 06:47:52 PM »
So I just found a pair of these at a grocery store for 25$ anyone skate these? To me they feel horrible, I almost ate it on a flat ground Ollie. It might be because I have been skating the vans AVS for the last week? But these feel like they have no grip at all.

I have a pair and like everything about em. They skate and fit great even though I prefer the ogs. I had no problem with the grip and i skated mine right out of the box. Would definitely recommend and you can always grab a pair for $50 or less

Got a pair I’ve been skating that I like so far. Stiff at first but don’t take too long to wear in. Mush up that sole a bit and see how they feel after a while

I guess I will skate them more and see, kind of sucks how thin the insole is. I tried to put my super thin footprint ones in and my heel kept slipping out. Even if they are mostly used for a chiller shoe I was stoked on the price for them, I found them at grocery outlet of all places!

Agree with all of this.

I replaced the insole with an old sb one. I had the dime ones, but I’m sure they are all the same. Shoe lasted me quite awhile. Like almost obnoxiously long. Firm. As good of a skate shoes as I’ve had.

I think they look like shit but I'm not young so it doesn't matter.

They do look better on than side one. Looking down at them makes me smile. Great shoes.

For me they are one of the best shoes out on the market. As stated before, the insole is kinda thin so I added an extra one, and after mushing them out they skate like a dream. The sole is hella durable (which is a huge plus for me) and offer support and are still able to feel your board really good. In fact they might be my next pair

My favorite shoe in years, I'm on my fourth pair. Had about 10 pairs of vulcs before these so they felt crazy at first, like skating in timberland boots. They took a couple sessions to break in, then i fell in love. Best flick, best grip, good support. I swap out their shitty insoles tho.

My favorite pair of shoes in years. Best flick in a long time even though my ankle is completely fucked.

I like stiff shoes, and these are perfect for me. I’m on pair #3 right now and I’m probably going to get the same thing next.

I've got the blue suede ones and they're lovely. As everyone says, a few days to bed in but good solid shoes.

I've got the white leather ones with gum sole, bit stiff at first across the top of the toes but broke in pretty quickly. Really enjoying them, tempted to try out the vacuum molded ones but have too many shoes.

I don't mind the stock inner soles but might upgrade them since everyone goes on about them, what's a good recommendation?

Whut vacuum molded ones?

I just used an old sb insole. Anything low volume would work.

Nothing too thick, I'm using the insoles from a pair of Adidas 3st.004, they're amazing, thin but squishy.

^thanks, I had a pair of 3st.004, nice shoes but couldn't skate them as toe box too tight

These are the vacuum molded ones, looks like they would be less stiff out of the box (not that it bothered me much)

Oh shit! Those are crazy. They'd probably be awesome, less stitching to blow out, and if they're made with the DC Supersuede then they'll be durable af. Not super breathable around your toes tho

I’ve got a pair of the red, white and blue ones and I feel like an American Gladiator when I wear them.

I did try the insoles from the new van avs, they are almost as thin as the stock ones. But my heel keeps slipping out even with them being tied as tight as I can get them. I’m also going to walk in them to see if they break in. Walking seems fine, but skating they hurt the bottom of my feet after about two minutes. But hey, I only paid 25$ for them. Mine are a dark camo and black leather ones.
