Kinda hard to give shoe advice since we all have different feet. One person may think their foot is wide, but it's narrow compared to someone else's. Just gotta try a bunch of shoes.

Still think the 808s are the best looking NB#, but my feet don't vibe with 'em. 80s basketball style shoes fit me best.

@rothdigga what's up with those all black/white 480 lows? NM480SBW, NM480SWG. Are they super limited? Only see them at Kinetic: https://kineticskateboarding.com/collections/new-balance/products/new-balance-numeric-480-black-white-1

As stated above, those are wider "in catalog" 480's that we did so those will be available much more broad for people who just want to skate the 480's, so we did some good basics in them.  Kinetic just got their order a little earlier than others but I think most shops will have them in the coming week or 2 and you'll see them readily available.  I also have that slated for a carryover shoe to re-stock throughout the year just for anyone who really wants to skate that shoe as their everyday go-to.  We will still continue to do specials in the 480 but are mixing in some staple colors as well.

Nice! Thanks for the info! Keeping the basic colors restocked is the right call 🙌🏿

I just got some of the black/gum 440 V2 and after the first session here are my thoughts:

- These things are comfy and cushiony
- Fit nice for wider feet
- Nice flick for a cup
- I like the new N

overall for my first pair of new balance im highly impressed, and 85 dollars which is great

I like these insoles but I usually run FP, anyone have recommendations on which model insole they use? I have some orthotic kingfoam elites but those are a little big/tall for these ones.

Can some of you guys that have tried different models help me out please. Of the newer generation of NB's I have skated the 508 and 1010. I preferred the look, flick, and ventilation of the 508 over the 1010 but it was too narrow in the midfoot. This is not an issue with the 1010. Also my feet feel less sore after skating in the 1010. I was now looking at the 440v2, 480, and 600. 600 look like the best choice for me but the midfoot looks very narrow in the fotos I have seen. Is that the case? Also how comparable is the cushioning between 440v2 and 480? Thanks y'all, having old feet sucks.
[close]
Cushioning wise for me: 480>1010>808>600>508>440
[close]

Nice, thank you for sharing your experience. Any chance you could also scale these models with regard to midfoot width? Cheers
I'll try my best, I'd say: 808>1010>440>480>600>508

These fit well in HIs I had (they stacked fine on the the super thin stock ortholite), not sure how they fit in the lows. Thin forefoot, high arch, deep heel cup.

Thanks for this. Really looking forward to the 440v2 as the original 440 is one of my favorite shoes ever. How would you compare boardfeel between v1 and v2? Or is there a difference at all? I love the original's feel.

440v2 Hi  vs  480 Hi

Having worn the 440v2 high, to me, it's actually more like a mid (lower angled back/achilles area). The 480 high pics look like a true high (and taller than the 440V2s). Anyone skate / try on both and speak the height comparing the two?

Haven’t skated the 440 V2 hi but the 480 hi and dunk hi are damn near identical in height. Hope that helps you somewhat.

Well I never actually skated the v1, only tried them on. So i can't help you there. I've tried on the V1 and these do feel a very small amount of more padding.

480s are def higher than the 440s

I still feel like they fall  just barely short of a "true high top" though. They taper towards the heel for that little  Achilles notch. I like it though.

Jordan 1 highs (which I would consider a true high top) are slightly higher than 480/dunk highs.

I skated 4 pairs of v2's. And a lot of 440s's. v2's have less boardfeel but by a very small amount. A little stiffer sole. They also keep their shape for longer. Flick is the same. Grip is the same. If you can find some v1's in stock for the lowlow. I would recommend buying those. the difference between the two are nothing to brag about. Just a minor upgrade to an already good shoe.

Great shoes. TTS for me, similar fit to the skate 440. Comfortable and definitely not heavy. Not waterproof, mind you, so not a "true" trail shoe, but still a nice option for wandering about in various terrain.

Any other NB shoes you've worn for reference? Wide or narrow foot?

Think they'd look good with jeans or chinos for a casual work event or conferences since shirt / pants / jacket to avoid looking too stiff.

The trail version is maybe a tad wider than the skate 440. Having liked the 440, 508 and 600 a whole lot, these don't feel much different size-wise, but they do allow for a bit wider foot. I'd say they have a "normal" fit, if that helps.

They fit the same despite having the puffier tongue in my experience.
