Set up a freshie a little early cuz all the black Friday spends are hitting the porch.

Grimple 9.1" gerwer egg
Film 6.0s
F4 conicals 52/101
Swiss 6s
Single slappy hour swizzle stick
7/8 hardware
[close]

Been skating 9" eggs pretty heavy for the last year or so. They all seem to come in around 8.5/8.6 at the trucks. I've always set up 8.75 trucks (cuz thats what I skate on an 8.5/8.6 pop) and loved it.
[close]

Sick set up!
[close]

Backing up Dale here, can’t wait to accidentally snap this on our next session.
[close]

Stop it... You guys are gonna make me blush.

@freelancevagrant you're not getting anywhere near this one. Fool me once... hahaha

I saw your decent haul in the other thread - good to get a couple of those boards too.

Almost makes it look like a different graphic when it is mostly on woodgrain too, which is cool.

This one brown and the other one orange stain.

My gear hoarding has evolved to where I'm now stacking multiples of shapes I run across that skate great. Right now there are multiple pilz eggs, gerwer eggs, and 8.75 AWS pops (along with the assorted one offs) in the stack.

I've always been a big fan of graphics that use the stained ply as a backround. Great esthetic (IMO) and the blank kicks slide like a dream.

I've got a green one that just shipped, too. Hahaha

Any familiar with this Uma egg?

https://www.tactics.com/uma-landsleds/chapman-pre-dawn-90-shaped-skateboard-deck

Wondering if I could slap my Independent titanium 149s on it or should go up to 8.75" trucks?

It's my first egg so unsure of how much magic carpet is nice vs. just making it too tippy

149s are perfect for it.

Hell yes, purchased.

Made a lil cracked egg out of this one.
Uma 9" (about 8.5-8.6" over the trucks)
Independent Titanium 149
F4 Conical Full
Bones Swiss

Feels amazing too, highly recommend this exact shape. So responsive despite the extra weight due to the short wheelbase and relatively pointier nose and tail.

Had a spare set of 169s so I added a Heroin egg to the nest

I love the Uma.

Was just talking to the fella that owns the local shop and he is kicking the idea around of an egg shaped shop deck. That would be dope. Maybe something in the sizes of the Heroin eggs.

Anyone know the width over the front and rear truck holes on the huffer/phawt shape? Want to pick one up but want to axle these thunder 149s before getting new trucks.

If you’re talking about the Cardiel huffer, these are the measurements from the latest one (Mezcalero graphic)

Front truck front bolts - 8.68”
Front truck rear bolts - 8.94”
Rear truck front bolts - 9.0”
Rear truck rear bolts - 8.75”

149s are fine if you have wider wheels or don’t mind a bit of magic carpet.

I’ve ridden this shape with 8.5”, 8.75”, and 9” trucks. Any of them will work. I prefer 9” trucks with it, but I’m also an old transition skater so my opinion may or may not help.

I also ride the Huffer/ Phawt with either Ace 55 or 151/159s. Haven't tried them with an 8.5" truck yet but I think @bombsaway86 is correct. It could be done with wider wheels. Phawt shape is slightly less eggy and has more width in the tail and length in the nose. The Huffer is the better of the two IMO.

And way more available right now it would seem too.

Lots in stock in the bigger shops, as well as others when looking.

Haha. Yeah. I did. It looked good.  I also think I have spent so much time there that I can pretty much recognize the ground in any photo. 😂

I was the kid in the 3rd stall kind of doing his own with with glasses and the green/yellow 510 hat on.
