Bodega boys was dope in the beginning but around the time they got big on Viceland it just kind of got stale, Mero gets waaaay to high rambles and does too many impersonations. Desus I feel isn't syncing well with Mero at times in their most recent podcasts.  Funny thing is last year I recommended to Dj ATrak he go to the viceland show to promote fools gold NY and actually replied to the tweet and did it that night, supposedly the counter culture loves them and was obvious place for Jonah to talk his movie about 90s counter culture

They no longer do the "live from Redbull studios" drop and have claimed to end business with el RojoToro as of 2 episodes ago (Leche). They cut ties with everyone who fed them and now they gotta do James Corden's Celebrity dicksuck-assrub dance to survive. Sad.

I am re-listening to the Bodega Boys from episode 1 [currently at episode 31] and it's so much more creative and content filled compared to 132.

Yeah the decks were those sizes. I'd say its one of the best depictions of a different era Ive seen on film. Which makes the movie's flaws more annoying.

I am kinda excited to watch this movie, but there are some flaws, like, no one that were a true skateboarder had hair like that blonde long curly hair dude, unless you were a surfer.

than, on a more specific note, I noticed that the guy that wears the Accels dont use the original Accels, because the original Accels didnt had that little thing on the first row of laces, that only appeared years after and it was not the 90s anymore.

I saw it last night and it was really good.  It felt like watching a documentary of a group of friends and less like a movie.  Odds are that if you grew up skating in the 90's, either you or your friends can relate to each character in the movie.

It reminded me of Boyz n the Hood in terms of documenting what it was liking growing up in a particular time within a particular culture.

Lol to be fair I was thinking more of flicks that depict 20th century life from a modern perspective. Like Back to the Future's 1950's or Paid in Full's 1988. It's usually overly heavy on nostalgia.

Pretty much the only thing good I can say about the movie is the attention to detail in period accuracy. Until you get to Donovan Piscopo playing a Chocolate rider but looking exactly like he does now including the Blazer SBs that did not exist back then.

i saw the majority of Frances Ha and it was realistic and awful. im not sure if you're supposed to love or hate it or both but it make me roll my eyes feeling icky.

skate kitchen was fine. most of what you said is (hilariously) true, but it was great nonetheless. acting wise, mid90s is better though.
