Don’t blame the chief, blame whoever made him skate to Zwan.
[close]

lol wasn't even his worst. When he was coming up he was always telling people he skates for Jesus and that god "saved him from drugs" while he was growing up in the whitest town in Montana.
[close]

Is Kalispell whiter than other Montana towns? Or did Sierra live in whitefish? I can’t remember. But they’re not any whiter than most of the rest of Montana.

Since Montana came up, we should really be hyping Stefan Lalonde.

all day.

Put on Step Into The Light and watch him fuck up that church handrail in Bigfork. Or some killer footage from Montreal.

i first met Sierra back in the day when he was a little kid in Pensacola.  he was a cool down to earth kid with a good head on his shoulders, I can't imagine that changing too much to make him a "kook".  His family was just into some weird religious evangelical stuff, but i would think Jamie would have related to him about that, unless all of his god stuff is just more marketing, who knows.

Sierra ended up being pretty run of the mill style and image wise, and I think the original poster is right in questioning why he got dropped.  Jamie's answer is lame as always...trying to justify cool-guying some little kid off his team, but then again he is the guy that sued some other little kid for having the nerve to quit.

Jamie sued a kid for quitting? Would love to know that story

trevor colden, he had to pay like 15k to leave mystery

Not sure there was even a lawsuit involved. Chief might’ve threatened him with breaching his contract. Trevor explained it on his Bunt that he asked Jamie what it would take to leave Zero and the offer was $15k. Trevor paid it and left, that seems to be the whole story.

The 15k was to compensate for all the product already created with his name on it.  Ellington had to do something similar when he bailed on Baker, re-upped with Zero, then backed out again

Knew about the Colden one but not Ellington going back to Zero after Baker? Did he talk about it in an interview?

Oof it’s been awhile, don’t remember where I read it, but it wasn’t Ellington saying it, it was talking about contracts/precedence when the Colden thing happened.   I think the Carroll Vans shoe was also mentioned in it how he dipped when they were still selling it and kept selling it.   Hell, maybe it was just on here

But I remember remember the ads.   Announced his return with Zero 2 with a Skull and Crossbones wearing a fedora set of decks and I want to say a trick with a windbreaker vest and no shirt underneath and then he was gone like a month later

Very on brand for him of the era lol.
With how he's so long associated + been involved with Baker + DW I always just assumed once he was there that was him.
The article talking about precedence re: Colden is kinda ringing a bell - if I did see and read it at the time I've blanked on the EE bit.

Yeah he wasn’t quite there from the beginning, which is why he didn’t have a part on Side A of Baker 2G just in the Piss Drunx montage

In case anyone doesn't remember there was also him purposefully skating into pedestrians in China a few years back.

There is no short supply of good skateboarders in 2024. It's crazy he still gets brought up when his skating was never anything special.

Baker was still only a idea at the time when ellington originally quit zero...nothing was set in concrete, and baker2g hadn't come out yet. if i remember correctly,  baker2g was originally just jay stricklands video that later ended up being a pitch to per welinder to take on a new brand at blitz. thats why there's no footage in the video on baker boards other than a few spray painted boards with the PD logo on it, baker launched soon after, and erik quit zero again

Dude is at least 240 pounds and he still needs multiple guns in his car. What is he afraid of?

lol, I looked up his condo complex out of curiosity. If you want a deal this is the place to buy. Most of the units for sale are cutting prices.

How is this fool trying so hard to flex but has to go down to the 711 in his apartment complex to buy a damn water bottle. I’m just a regular dude but I can get up right now and walk 10ft to get a cold ass water out of the fridge. Even got sparkling💧 💪
There might be bitches at the 711 dawg

Came here to defend that Sierra fella, then clicked on the topic with him taking out pedestrians in China. I'd still disagree with calling his style milquetoast within the context of mid-2000s street skating, which in my opinion was - second only to mid 90s sexless ankle-high curb tech miracle clip era - probably peak milquetoast street skating days. Fellers had a lofty slomo steeze going on with his flip tricks that stood out to me, and was pretty diverse for a street skater at the time. Always got a kook vibe from him, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and chalked that up to my ingrained prejudice toward outspoken religious people. But I feel validated in my judgement now.

Also I second the comment about his episode with Richie on no one's show. Made me think of that meme or something that was going around a little while back. Nightmare blunt rotation, or something to that effect. Except those two would probably be more tolerable if they smoked weed since they both strike me as the types to get all self-conscious and shut up when they get stoned. It was like the self-important incel atheist who compulsively tells everyone within earshot the logical fallacies of religion like they're the first person who ever notices, with the aggressively boring christian simpleton who is incapable of an interesting thought but still won't shut up. Kook and kookier right there.
