The New Deal- time of life when my skating really started to progress and loved these decks (slicks/montessi, knigge)

Baker- Two words- Andrew Reynolds.

Wray Bros.- too a lesser extent plan b ( fuck element) Jeremy Wray is a hero of mine as well as mentioned above.

Indy/Spitfire- always had this combo.

World - Rocco did some terrible shit, but he played a big role in the development of street skateboarding via World and Big Brother, which was propaganda for World.

DLX - Solid teams, their rider's relationship with Adidas and Nike had a huge influence on the market, and Thrasher was their mouth piece in the early years.

Tracker (really anything Balma owned) - Tracker led to Balma founding Transworld Skateboarding. Like World and DLX above, creating a propaganda machine that promoted a certain kind of skateboarding.

Woodward - Gary Ream is the reason skateboarding is in the Olympics. For better or (probably) worse this is going to have an impact on skateboarding.

old ones are pretty obvious, as for new, i hate to admit it but

FA - almost every established board company, and every no name brand has ripped off their graphics

Hockey - As people are phasing out of copying bills filming, they seem to just copy bennys editing instead

Polar - pretty much everything about the brand, from the amount of softgoods to the graphics to the videos.

That’s one hell of a resume. It’s tentacles are woven through almost the entire industry in one way or another.

AWS has to be up there too for being the quintessential east coast brand. It’s also the precursor to the whole FA/Hockey thing that the kids love so much.
