I'm having trouble on this DIY curb. It what I planned on using for the pals video.

I'm going to keep trying but I think it's impossible to get a pop over on. It might need glossier paint or something cuz it's really frickin flat.

The second is my back up curb. I think I called it peace curb. It's like right outside my house direct in front of the museum entry way.

It's waxed from the start of the bricks. It's kind crust but the other side is all bricks and a little downhill.

I've gotten nothing of note here yet.

The other end of the street by the bewitched statue had the nice main curbs. I've gotten a few nice ones there but my wheels get stuck on the top so only like crook variations work rn

People laughed at me earlier when my board got locked to the curb on a nose grinder earlier today. I would have laughed too. Shit was on there

Let’s play curb or ledge:

About 2’ with a Cali curb lean back.
Curb or ledge?
If the function of the thing is to deter vehicles and keep them aligned with the road, then it is a curb.
If the function of the thing is to deter pedestrians and keep them on the intended walking path, and/or create a condition for sitting, then it is a ledge.

It has nothing do to with height.

That what you have right there is a curb. A tall ass curb.
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

Dude working the register at Lowe’s gave me a silent smile and a nod when he saw the only things I was buying was a brick rub and Salba sauce.

So, I prepped a curb — brick rubbed it smooth, brushed it, and applied two layers of sealant (brushed on). Went to wax it today and went up for a couple of BS slappies and my trucks would just catch and I’d get pitched. Wonder if the corner of the curb is still too sharp? Should I had brick rubbed it round? For the record I slid when I did a nose slide.

How thick a coat of sealant did you put on?

I know when the guys prep curbs down here it’s a decent coat left to cure and then another

Pretty thick. One coat, let it cure, another coat, let that cure, then waxed.

been skating some double sided curbs near me with my son a bit lately. There's now 3 sections, some of which are maybe about 60' to 80' long. Super fun here.

Maybe some rounding the edge is a good idea then, it’ll gunk up your rub brick with wax and sealer though

I'm gonna scrape the wax, round it out, then add more gloss/enamel and see from there.

This is my newest project. Covered enough to skate in the rain and decently lit up at night! Didn’t even need a rub brick since the concrete was so smooth so I just hit it with some glossy concrete sealer and a bunch of wax. Grinds fine but still need to work it in a bit to get it to slide properly. Only had a few sessions so far though so I’ll report back when it’s nice and buttery.

If you have or can borrow one of these.
Try torching the wax into the concrete before rub bricking.🙂

He sealed it so it’ll just melt off.
Definitely hit the edge of the curb with the brick(as well as where your wheels hit with nose/tails as well) and re-sauce it.

Fuh. That rebar hanging out scares me. Like one slip while pushing up that thing and you're a shish-kabob.

I don’t think that’s what they mean with ‘curb your dog’ but I’m down for it. Nice looking dogos and curbage.

This magnificent curb / manny pad is right behind my apartment. It was there when I started skating but then I only used it as manny pad because I could not slappy yet. Also, often cars were parked right behind it. Then the street was renovated and they dismantled the whole thing to my dismay. But as a phoenix from the ashes, once the street was finished, after many moons,  they rebuilt it and even put that yellow signage on the blacktop behind so no more parking there. Good things come to those who wait.
why come?

I know a lot of spots (especially banks) are deceiving when you’re not there irl but can you tell me what’s hard about it? I always thought this spot looked super mellow and fun.
