There is this group of young kids(maybe 15-17 years old) I met skating last year and every kid was kinda good but all had revive boards

So I through out a real board and switched with them and I dont even how how anyone can ride those? They are a slight step up from a walmart board.

Anyhow, as the kids pass around my board its clear they can actually pop alot better and go alot faster. They seemed so shocked. They had no idea REAL existed, or indys, and I think I had bones on that board.

Anyhow I told the kids to meet me there the next day and I dropped off a buncha random old board set ups for them.

My good deed for the year(the one kid works at the grocery store and always hooks me up with his discount. And now hes always telling me about new videos and hes just blown away)

Pretty stoked on that so hopefully these kids pay it forward to their friends and get them of those God awful boards

I got into skating from the tony hawk pro skater 1 game and also owned tony hawk trick tips vhs. My first board in 99 was a birdhouse tony hawk board. Did I eventually grow out of that and discover cooler companies, yes.

there is 2 videos total of him spouting off Scientology shit, there’s hundreds of videos on that channel where that isn’t plugged in at all. I’m pretty sure his company Braille is also not funded by the church of Scientology either. As far as “what has he done for skating?” he at least built a warehouse that offers lessons to kids, made a ton of tricktips, pays the people in his videos. They outsell legit board company’s for a lower price and I think that’s fine, let the kids like what they like and it’s okay to start on a beginner board, and they’ll grow out of it.

Why does this come up so much? Please use the search function where you will find a recent thread where everyone details what they don't like about him.

1) Scinetology cannot be put aside. That's how the cult i designed. It literally takes over every facet of your life.
2) Couldn't hack it in the skate biz which usually means there's a personality issue.
3) Couldn't just make money off of considerable Youtube views and sales of the how-to vids but also had to disrupt the industry with crummy product. What woodshop do they even use?
4) Once they ran out of how to vids, they started pumping out kooky "this time we skate a calculator" type of videos, clearly gaming the YT algorithm to keep their videos showing up in recommended searches.

It’s kind of crazy if you really think about it, but he’s kind of way more professional then most skateboarders. He gets his companies mad advertising, always produces content that people consume, seems like a genuinely nice dude even if he’s a kook(this is how I see scientologists, just like Mormons, the nicest people on the planet but the biggest kooks). In terms of being a professional, he seems like honestly a way more legit professional then most skateboarders.

Now I’m terms of his skating or what he stands for, no he’s not a legit professional, but I wish legit pros we all like would take a look at this dude, and somehow apply what he’s doing into something not kooky and become more professional. If NBA stars went from thug hip hop attire, attitude, and marketing to professional hip hop, attire, attitude, and marketing, then skaters can too. To be honest no professional athletes have ever looked more professional then the dudes in the NBA, even tho some of the superstars act like high school girls on Twitter and IG, the Players in the NBA are more professional then prolly any other athletes.
