That's only SLIGHTY better than a crob board...

In this instance, I think the Ink Blot Crob board is the choice since his name appears super tiny, over the little red chocolate square in the middle of the deck... you don't even really see it... Just the abstract chocolate script...

Anybody skate a twin tip like a normal setup and just flip it around when you get razor tail? I have to have my rear truck significantly tighter than my front truck, so that's the main benefit I can see to skating a twin shape. I think the biggest challenge for me would be adjusting my pop on such a long tail. I'm actually really tempted to try out a Girl G069 with some Venture 5.6's that I have because I think that would make a really versatile setup.

Try the Ishod, it is a legit twin tail with 6.5 kicks... You can definitely turn it around when it starts to razortail if thats what you wanna do.

someday someone will make a 8.75 twin with a 7.125" nose and tail and a 14.125" wheelbase...hopefully. I'd settle for even 7" nose and tail with a 14.25 wb just as long as it's 8.75" wide. Just putting this out there in case manifest destiny works via text on a forum. For now the girl 8.5 twin I just ordered will hopefully be alright even though it's the narrowest board I'll be skating in years.

Kinda off topic but kinda not: anyone here using a normal popsicle's nose as tail? I mean, like e.g. Decenzo does. Ie. not switch, but riding in your normal stance but with the nose as tail.

Just asking 'cause a while ago I had an epiphany with my current setup (Polar 8.25) where my pop started to feel better with the tail. Anyone else experience/explore this? Should I go full Decenzo or just get a twin tip?

Idk

The Ishod 8.75 twin does have a longer wheelbase, but what trucks are you skating?

Only because I have another option for you, but it won't work on Thunders - already drilled in the middle, but as I have tried it and it is working on both Indy or Venture, you can drill the baseplates in 1/4" each which gives plenty of gap in metal between original holes and new holes, as well as still keeping the front and back bolts away from the pivot point, so will not catch on nose / tail slides.

On face value, people would ask "Who would ever drill in their trucks?" but as per the Venture thread, Ishod himself is skating Ventures that have been drilled in, so this would easily work on Venture or Indy to make the Real Ishod 8.75 deck into pretty much what you are wanting, in terms of wheelbase and length of kicks.

All you need is a basic drill and a 5 mm metal drill bit, a little effort and getting things right and there you go, trucks that you can use on any and every 8.75 twin board, only having to drill them once, not having to drill the deck, can always still use it in original holes if needed too, so you have a fairly simple solution.

I would recommend trying to drill an old baseplate first, going slower rather than faster and it was a lot easier than I first thought to get through normal cast baseplates, with a friend also drilling out forged baseplates too, so it works on either there.

If drilling out Venture, they only have four holes, but if drilling out Indy, go with a four hole baseplate, not the six hole baseplate, which is 3/8" difference and the bolts will sit out past the pivot cup area a little too much.

That is my experience and even though at first, I thought that would not be a good idea, it does work, the holes do not break through, the trucks hold and it really does open up a completely different option for one or both trucks on some boards that might not work quite as well with just the usual hole pattern on existing trucks.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I was really craving an 8.5" BBS twin with an 14.25" WB but I have really settled into the 14.5" Ishod WB. Can't see any down sides and my flip tricks are about as on point as they can be. I might be over the shorter WB yearning...

Same, I thought I'd like 14" but my flips were wildly inconsistent and my feet felt way too close together no matter how much I tried adjusting my stance. 14.25" is the standard for good reason.

I skated 14" wheelbase boards for years but I'm finding 14.25" to be perfect these days. I'm 5'11' with a 32" inseam and it feels like the perfect balance of having enough room while still not being too hard to flip.

I've skated a ton of twins, probably 90% of what's out there and the Foy twins (both the 8.5 and 8.25) are top tier.

Tactics lists it as the normal 14 sadly. Wished they’d do an 8.75 and 14.25 version personally.

If you are chasing those dims look to DW and SC (SC if you want that stiffer Crail wood feel).

It came and went. Depending on how many they pressed that could be a good thing. Also depends on how many of the team is riding it? Prod was supposedly on an 8.125 twin that never was sold and Jaeb is on the 8.25"....

Crail, Santa Cruz andd DLX are the only ones that are consistent. Every drop. Habitat twins seems to be readily avaialbe but my guess is that's because their twins aren't as popular (no common sizes). Heroin drops symmetrical boards pretty much every drop these days but they've got ADHD when it comes to offering anything in a consitent shape or dimensions.

Everyone else seems to be every other drop or so (most use BBS, so if DLX can do it every drop, they can too but I can't image the deman is hight for quasi/Deathwish).

Toy (ps) roger (HLC) and a few randos just seem to be one offs/gone.

Suggest you go with the brands that produce on the regular so you can keep skating the same shape/dims.

Thank You has a twin as well, but it's Thank You.

Quasi does twins regularly, PS Stix just started doing them through Pizza, but it's Pizza.

Same with Santa Cruz Tom Asta and Murio McCoy, but the Asta 1 seems like it it won't be in rotation anymore. On his last few videos it sounded like he wasn't too hyped on the dimensions and went back to an 8.25 standard popsicle. Shit graphics aside their dims were a good middle ground. I just wish their tips were less tapered.

Habitat / AWS and DLX have consistently done twins every season, but the dims are either too burly or tiny. I do like the Habitat twins as a Venture guy, the WB on the trucks compensates for the length. And the full nose is so good for nollies and flips.

Quasi is close to regular, but sometimes every other drop (I follow it as it was/is my fav out of the BBS twins). Wouldn't touch a thank you (too long).

Which Pizza is a twin? I really like PS over BBS (BBS feel heavy and thick/dead, why I switched back to SC) and really liked the feel of the toy machine twin out of PS; I would dip on a pizza provided the dims were good.

Those two NHS twins, Asta's name is off it for sure - that was the SC-391 and was recenlty put out with McCoy's name on it  (instead of the the 8.4, and not an 8.4 McCoy in sight this drop.); weird he didn't jump over to the SC-365 (custom mccoy) shape he and Asp uses, which is based off the 8.25s he started riding...

The SC 8.25x31.83x14.22 - 6.71/6.71  (SC-365) really is the best 8.25" I've ridden next to the the new foy 8.25" Twin, difference between the two is really concave and kicks (beeing steeper and deeper on the SC) and wood feel as the main dims are practially identical.

Definitely want to try a twin tail next. Going to go Krooked or Real and 8.3 looks good for me. However, I am thinking going twin + slick is gonna be a bit out there. I’m not that keen on the concept of slick in general - heavier, dull feel to pop, potential to warp? - but I see DLX sometimes run the shape non-slick. It looks like the summer release for Krooked has the worrest TT non-slick so think I’ll wait for that to hit the UK.

Should I be hesitant on the slick?? Anyone confidently say that it’s nothing to worry about.

Everyone should try a slick at least once. They are super fun. The only place I don't like them is on steel coping. They are also a little heavier and more expensive.

Slicks are fun and consistent but yeah, heavy and dull feeling comparatively speaking.

Opera does a good job with their slick kicks by not covering the tips but just a portion of the tail (where you actually slide).
