We had a shitty half pipe under a bridge near the airport a couple of years ago, but it got torn down after about 6 months. I’ve heard there is a spot in the far northwest of Sydney, but it’s too far for me to bother checking. And Portside, but same thing, hour and a half drive so I never get over there. Any Sydneysiders who know of others spots?

My town sucks man, Ive been here for years and we've never gotten a diy. How come other towns have amazing diys?

Don´t know if you are joking or not but how about doing it yourself?

My town has one which has been around for 8 years now. I posted some pictures in the other DIY thread and have pictures and videos on the tumblr in my signature.

You gotta build it man. Look for a spot that you can build on a foundation etc. sketchier neighborhoods usually work best. Start building. It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Find a paved spot with a jersey barrier. Get a few bags of concrete mix and build a transition. You'll do a bad job the first time but you'll have officially started your DIY.

Agreed, my town doesn’t have a spot either so I found a tennis court that never gets used and just started putting stuff there recently. Currently just a small quarter pipe and a grind box but I am having the local teenage skaters approach the parks and recreation board about allowing us to build a larger DIY spot within that same space.

Yes, we have 2 in the Kansas City area.

Both city sanctioned, both totally sweet.  Builds are a good time and people are nice.  No one vibes you out if you are skating and haven't helped build before...just pitch in some way for the next one (labor, water, pizza, beer, whatever).
People around here are nice.
Didn't know about Edgewood, it seems way more my skillset. Harrison St is so great but I'm trash at tranny

DC had the bridge spot for a while. Pretty well known, city didn’t mind. It was largely torn down a couple years ago while construction equipment was being stored there. It’s finally clear again, and at least in preliminary discussions the city seems like it’ll be ok with the space being used for skating again. Fingers crossed. Also Fight Club (RIP).

I have been skating and building or rather altering a ledge spots to grind. Hopefully it catches on if not oh well. South Florida has parasites when blowing up a spot and posting it online.
