uhh im not a huge fan of the canadian bands of this era , at least the bigger ones i hear on the major "alternative" radio stations. they are ok i guess. lol its funny people are calling sloan the pioneers of indie rock now. i always thought they were just huge fans of that 70s show or some shit

As a Canadian I can say we haven't contributed too much great music to the world, with the obvious big exceptions. Sloan has been around since the late 80's/early 90's - looooong before That 70's Show. One of the punk bands from the Maritimes in the 90's - Date Rape - has a song called Fuck Sloan. They also had a song called We Fucked The Moaning Lisas, about an all female band of that name. Something tells me that band would not be so well received today, lol.

Mid to late-90's Canadian indie rock is the best. Sloan, The Gandharvas, Salmonblaster, Pure, Junkhouse, The Weakerthans, 54-40, etc. all have great songs. Even lame bands like Moist have a few good tunes. Bigger acts like Our Lady Peace and Matthew Good haven't aged too well for me, but yeah.

I just hope Nora and Lizzie end their feud before someone dies.
