Big wheels are sick

I used to ride 52-55

Now I usually ride 58-60

I can skate faster and at shittier spots

Harder to flip and stuff but when you do land something it feels great

I also just picked up this New Deal deck. The re-release party is tonight, so there's a chance that I'm the first person that's not affiliated with New Deal or Dwindle to have one

I basically have the setup with the 8 inch version of that deck and it’s been working great for me. Have another full SE on deck

kind of flat side to side, but normal medium steepness on the nose and tail. It's how I picture a lot of boards from 90-92. I have an original New Deal board from 91 that has a longer nose; I sort of wish they went with recreating that mold

Palace Chewy 8.38 w/ 14.8wb
Thunder Titanium 148's
Spitfire Connical Fulls 52mm
Bones Swiss 6

I got bored today and realized I haven't switched it up in a minute set up wise. Said fuck it lets make a shits and giggles setup, and here we are.

Gave it a short flat ground session and it's not bad. Everything just requires a bit more effort, and it made me remember why I prefer Aces > Thunder, but might use this as an excuse to pick up some other trucks to fuck around with.

if you put an l at the end of the image name but before the file format (ie

Sick! Wanted that Howell board back in the day, ended up getting an Underworld Element a few years later.  You riding it or hanging it?

Was juuuuuust thinking about setting up something very very similar. Why not liking the thunder? I’ve got 44s, they turn awesome, little heavy for me tho.

Basically because of the turn. After using the Aces so much lately, I like the way they turn alot. I'm going to give the Thunders a try for a while and see if I can get used to them again.
Yeah that and the squirrelyness are the only downside with Aces, but even then, I didn't find them all super heavy like standard Indy's. The squirrelyness is something you get used to though.

to me swirly trucks just seem like a one way road. tighter trucks just feel so unenjoyable after getting used to riding them loose.

Thanks for reply.
If it’s only about turning, ACE hard to beat.
How do you like the conical full, in the 52? I’ve got conical fulls, but they are 56s, huge and heavy. Been having much more fun on 52 classics, which are obviously much lighter. In retrospect, I should have gotten the larger size in the classics, smaller size in the fulls.
