too clean. was just window shopping those Quasi earlier today. you like?
[close]
Thanks! Yeah I really do. I've never skated an 8.5 and it's nice to have the extra stability and leverage over my trucks. I also like the way it looks when I look down at it, with the wide square nose and extra room. Feels nice and crisp too. It's got a blue middle ply which I like. We'll see how it holds up and if it keeps it's crisp-ness over time.

Lol I'm pretty sure I've seen you skate at the local Austin basketball court spot from the looks of the board/shoe combo. You wear glasses right?
[close]
Woah that's crazy! That spot was so sick, y'all are lucky to have it. I was there this past weekend on a trip to Austin, but I'm from DFW. But, yeah wow, small world, which guy were you, if you don't mind my asking?
[close]
Nice! I was the asian guy with glasses with the Wknd board and white janoskis. I was most likely practicing back smiths on the box. Haha I remembered seeing the Quasi and those shoes and being stoked.
[close]
Woah, I totally remember you! That's so sick, nice back smiths too, those were clean. The power of SLAP

Thanks! You were ripping as well.

Out with old, in with the same old.
Chocolate 9.25
Indy 169
Spitfire f4 classic 56mm
Bones medium
Reds I think

Wearing some authentic pros too. Literally the best overall setup I’ve had so far. Seems like it helps me progress at skating with a good rate as well.

No, just had two of them initially by virtue of circumstances. Not bummed though, I’m loving the way it feels.

One more vote for Bacon.
The tail kicks are steep too, I stopped riding mine on bowls just because I hated dropping in with the board pointing up higher than my erection.

Also just got my && deck, it’s concave is way harsher than I was expecting

How is that deck? I am really interested in it.
Would you mind posting a picture (in the setup thread)?

I skate Thunder 149s and that's an 8.25 board. Some people like to get real precise with 148s but I often dance between 8.25 and 8.5 so 149s work great for me.

Olympia is actually my local shop, unaffiliated with the bearings. I just ride Bones Super Reds on 53mm Spitfires.

I tend to go 8.25-8.3ish. Do you think 148 is the way to go? I plan on getting Thunders this weekend.
Great to see you showing your local shop some love. If you ever get a chance to try Olympia bearings they are worth the small price tag.

Just got 149s. Probably should have gotten 148s: I don’t tend to skate 8.5, but will skate 8-8.4.  The idea was to go for more stability (I could really try and skate a lot faster) and I want to learn/relearn some ledge basics. The thunders are great tho.

Not thumbnails but adding " width=xxx" inside the [img]-tag let's you set the displayed width. I think it's pretty useful. I edited that on your pics in the quote. Check it out by quoting me if my explanation sucked.

Yeah love it it was exactly the same shape as a WKND 8.25 that I loved so I will keep buying this 8.25 ps shape if I can keep finding them, my boy gave me this deck also so I’m stoked

Stoked to grab this, big fan of Simon.

Girl Simon Bannerot 8.5
Indy 149 standards (I'm done with my truck madness. These work and thats that.)
F4 Conical Fulls 52mm-ish by now
Bones Big Balls
Jessup

I haven't had much time to skate lately but that's going to change a bit which is nice, but just skating flat ground here and there the actual deck feels great. It's my first Girl board in a very long time so I can't make comparisons to the lesser quality wood they apparently used to use, but I do like this a lot.

New Girl/Chocolate wood pressure crack absurdly fast, but it doesn't kill the board or take away from the pop. Basically, they're super excellent now.

independent 139 forged hollow
spitfire f4 classics 53mm 99a
shorty’s black panther bearings

love this twin tail, but still getting used to this wheel base. I usually skate a 14”

also first time in 20 years I’ve rode Allen hardware. I know it sounds dumb, but they feel lighter. lol
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.
