I thought that Quasi shape was 14.125” wheelbase. Did you measure and find it to be different?

I was thinking of getting one but I feel like the 8.0 shape works better with Thunders due to the three fingers of flat. I just wish they made the 8 in another shorter shape. Like shrink the length and wheelbase by 0.25” each.  I like the length and stuff but I wouldn’t mind a shorter version for a tech setup.

yeah that was upon measurement, it might even be 14" exact, but was barely a mm or so bigger. seemed like a super short board, especially compared to the FA 8.18" 14.125" wheelbase PS stix I had before. I think the quasi measured like 31" without pressing down the measuring tape.

Damn that Polar board looks concave as hell, almost like the Real Low Pro II with the camber / scoop down the middle.

^ Are the other dimensions correct though? 8.375/8.38 width and 32 length exactly? How big/full are the nose and tail?
[close]

Exactly 32” long if you measure from tail to tail and don’t push down on the tape measure.  I think all BBS boards are like that while PS Stix tend to measure all of the wood together (basically the length before pressing the shape).

Width is exactly 8.375.

Wheelbase is exactly 14.375.

Nose is showing 7” and the tail is showing 6.75”. It’s a little hard to get it exact as my tape measure is very stiff and these are quite steep kicks.

The concave is on the steeper side of mid.  My Quasi 8.0s I would consider on the mellower side of mid.

The kicks are closer to full than pointy but I wouldn’t consider them full. When I think full I think of Quasi 8.0s and 8.375s, Theories 8.5s, and DLX Full SEs.  Those are all decks I’ve owned with very full shapes.

Thank you, that sounds pretty ideal. Had a few polar 8.5s back in the day with Indys and thought they were great except the tail was a tiny bit small for my liking.

Lately have been skating some 32inch, 14.25 wb 8.25s with ventures and really liking it, gotten a bit more used to the small kicks for slides, but still wish there was a little more real estate on the nose and tail and wouldn't mind a tiny bit longer wb too.

I’d recommend checking out Quasi’s 8.25 x 32.375 x 14.375s then. They’re really full with decent sized tails and noses but they’re not squared and short like their 8.25 x 32.125s.

They’re basically the same shape as the Polar 8.375s but with fuller kicks. They’re about the same exact length since it’s BBS vs. PS sizing.  The concave is also more mellow on the Quasi.

I love both. I haven’t had the chance to do anything other than cruise and ollie with my Polar so I can’t speak on what I prefer yet.

I see, I thought about trying one of those but it sounded a little longer than what I would have liked but if you say its pretty much the same length as a BBS 32 inch then that could be good. I'm not a fan of super square kicks like hockeys/fas as I find it a bit weird to pop/flick off of, seems like quasis as of lately aren't that extreme though.

Concave is something that I honestly don't notice at all for the most part, one less variable to stress about. Though one time I had a creature and it was dead flat and felt super weird for 2 days. Anything bbs/ps has perfectly fine concave to me.

Woos, that 8.0 quasi shape looks good. Haven’t had a quasi since this 8.3 run for your life graphic. What’s the dims on it? For some reason I’m thinking it’s a little long right ?

Width is an accurate 8.0”.

Length without pushing down on the tape measure is 31.75 but pushed down it is 32.375 due to the steep nose.  It skates similar to a 32-32.25” board in my opinion. Feels very similar to my brother’s 32.25” Theories and my 32” Polar. It feels slightly longer than the Polar though due to that nose... really grips your foot when you ollie.

Tail is approximately 6.75-6.8ish.

The nose is approximately 7.

The nose is more steep than the tail but the tail still is fairly steep compared to most shapes these days.  It’s a very fun board and the full kicks make it very roomy for an 8.0 while still being very light and agile.

I highly recommend Thunders or Venture Lows with this shape (I personally prefer Thunders). You could get away with Indies but try to go with the forged baseplate as standards are a bit too high in my opinion and it throws the pop off.  I feel like Aces have too short of a wheelbase for the amount of flat between the kicks and bolt patterns.  Obviously this is preference but I really feel like Thunders suite this shape best.  The pop and weight distribution are perfect in every way other than manuals.  I can manual the fuck out of this board but not as easily as some other combinations but I’d rather sacrifice manuals before pop.

new set up...Antihero Peter Hewitt 8.75 deck, Indy 159's with bones bushings...and OJ Dressen 54mm 101's

might be changing the wheels to 53mm and putting in a forged baseplate...but will ride this for a while before dropping the hight

Those are 149s...?  They look way too big to be 149s if that’s an 8.75.

Nice! How do those Loopholes feel compared with F4 99a’s (assuming you have skated those). I’d like to check Loopholes out but it’s hard to get info about how they compare to Spits
