took it my local secret covid curb a couple times this past weekend (pics from before) to skate some flatground. took a sec to get used to how flat it is.

anyone else ride ace 33's? if so what size board are you riding?

I have a set or two of the 33s, one is on an AH 8.125 which is a bit wide for them, but they still go ok on it.

That Dwindle though - is it a special board / sanded the graphic off / anything else to say?  Only because I have seen some people want really flat boards but almost all Dwindle are too steep in some area, even with different options for concave / kicks.

Yeah interesting, samples that may or may not become a regular thing, as many more people want flatter, the same as the industry is going towards shorter wheelbases right now, I wonder if some companies will be doing flatter boards too.
 Eg, Creature has the "Lite comcave" which I know has been out for a while now, but seemed to be more popular than their regular concave for some people.

It is funny though, a fine line between good and too flat?

I always found it much easier to just hop on a flat or mellow concave board and go. Steep concave sometimes has me missing the nose/tail on nollies/ollies.
i do hope to see more under 8" options as well as 14" and under wheelbase if anyone out there in industryland is listening.

How does 8.25 feel on the 149s? Been debating it for a while. Been running Venture 5.6s on 8.25, but i miss the stability of my Indys

They poke out a bit depending on Indy's vs Thunder's but it's not too much.

To me it gives a lot more stability and it feels solid only thing I have a slight quibble on wider trucks is the pinch for crooked grinds but it feels good.

149's on a 8.25' is as small as I'd go and to me a perfect match is 144's on a 8.25" or 8.1" you could go up to 8,38" on 144's or 148's Thunder's but ultimately it's up to you.

I've been skating that combination here and there and that's been my formula and it's worked for me.

There are more out there with quite a few people posting info, maybe more in the woodshop thread, but I know in DLX boards, there is an 8 with 14.0 wheelbase and a couple of other companies definitely do shorter boards with shorter wheelbases that are also medium to mellow concave.

I should have been more clear: I’ve heard about the fingers of flat, from ‘the professor’. I’ve enjoyed boards that have more fingers of flat, but I don’t have any conclusions on why, or which trucks worked better or what. Schmitt comes off as a kindly well meaning sort. As soon as he touches on a theory he kind of bounds off, adding in different tidbits, sprinkling other ideas in. There are not these moments, imo, where he more clearly defines what he’s saying. I can see truths in there, but it just starts to be a lot of talk. Most likely it’s my shitty attention span and lack of comprehension.
I like ps boards the best, I think I like flatter shapes, more fingers of flat, shorter boards....I prefer venture and ace, but that is much more convoluted.

Schmitt is the more fingers of flat the more finesse (at the cost of power/pop) / Fewer fingers of flat = more power/pop but at the cost of less finesse...I definlaty skate better on fewer fingers of flat and steeper kicks, trucks don't usually seem to matter as long as they aren't 55mm (or with tall wheels) then I have to adjust timing.

Eras were cheap, also been on slipon/thin vulc shoe kick lately. Only bad thing about slipons is that after few sessions they start to feel too unsafe so figured that these were the next best thing.

Can't wait to try it out after my quarantine is over.

There is nothing flat about this deck tho, super steep (more than I remember my other protos) maybe I got a top of the stack?
