Ive always loved tapered/pointy decks, but my Hockey board was probably the best board I’ve ever had. I felt like it improved my skating because of that rectangular shape. My board wasn’t steep at all though, maybe the nose just a little bit

I'm not religiously devoted to the brand, but yeah, I've had two FA boards and they were basically perfect. I keep flirting with other shit but Polar and FA consistently have exactly what I want from a skateboard. I also firmly believe that FA is ordering "better" wood from BBS because their decks seem to razor tail more slowly and keep their pop longer than anything else.
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

My street skating setup:

Real Reneal Doves 8.5 x 32.125, 14.375 WB
Ace AF1 55’s
Spitfire Classics 99a 54mm (worn to about 52 now)

I’m not sure if I like the shape that much. I prefer a long and wide nose/tail, on this deck they’re slightly tapered/sharp and a bit shorter. I think I’ll also go back to a 14.25 WB next time, to compensate for the weight of the Ace’s. I think it’ll give me a slightly snappier pop.

The other DLX 8.5 is shorter with the 14.25 wb but still pretty much the same shape.

If you want longer rounder kicks, something like Alien Workshop / Habitat have that shape with 14.25 wb, but they are definitely longer kicks and wide to the ends.

Just a few options anyway.

Was wondering since Roberts always calls it twin paddle, are the kicks slightly bigger than your usual tail? Almost like a mellow double nose situation?

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

8.1" Clutch blank
Venture 5.2 lows
50mm F4 classics

The 9" pop was fun but exhausting, and the only other non-cruiser I had set up was my 8" DOA with Venture lows (nostalgia board). Had a blast skating it for the past week but I took a fat chip out of it, so I set up this blank from the stash.

I remember hating my last Clutch but the first session on this was nice.

I never had Venture's but this setup looks perfect.

And I am mad jealous of all you who have access to BBS local shop decks. Ya all are so lucky. Great wood and supporting the local shop.

I can’t slappy it so it’s a ledge. I wish there was room for 2 more pushes to get to it.

Re: asymmetric grip job, my front truck is a hair looser than my rear so I like to know which way is which. Plus I’ve never ridden a twin so…..
