specs:
polar klez p2, 8.5 w/ 14.5 wheelbase (i didn't double check however)
ace classic 44, red baseplates. (you can't see it but i swapped the axle nuts out for red ones)
satori conical 54mm 101a
bearings were a mix of bones reds and spares
[close]

How is the P2?!  Been very curious about that shape.
lateish reply, but it's been pretty nice on aces. the first time i took it out was a thorough ass (or shins rather) kicking, but once i got used to it i could get so much more pop on all my tricks. it's probably more the trucks but i haven't been locking into crooks as much. on the flip side, manuals are way easier to balance.
would highly recommend it if you're looking to burn some money.
y’all not fuckin with what i’m fuckin with

Found a roll of grip in a box. I should have more.

livecode json

8.25 Pop master M1 shape (14”wb)
orchard graphic

Venture 5.6 hollow hanger
Old venture cast plates

Loopholes tear shape I think they are 54s I forgot

Bones ceramic bearings that I scored in 2016. I been cleaning them and shit so they’re still nice af and getting better and better.

I’m pretty sure I got shortys Allen.

Quick top graphic on grip so after I retire the board to the pile and I find it later I know this is the new house board.

Tomorrow I’m going to destroy that ledge.

Hollow hanger with cast baseplate 5.6 ventures is my favorite truck I’ve tried so far, especially on 14 WB

symmetrical shape & slick, 8.3 w/ 14.4wb
Venture 5.6 (edit: with super cush soft bushings and flat top washers)

How you like the pop, with the slick? Is Bobby’s shape the same as Ishod’s?

Edit: They don‘t make twins, do they?

They don't, as far as I know...
[close]

I am pretty sure chocolate is pressed at DSM now (the Dwindle woodshop). Resin glue, super stiff, steep kicks, but mellow concave. Really good wood. At any rate they have the Crob twin if that’s your thing. Might be worth checking out.
[close]
I built a set-up with a Chocolate G069 twin Crob 2 weeks ago and the marking looks pretty standard for a crail wood (printed 'front' and 'rear' though) :

Can't speak too much about the wood feel though. My previous crail or DSM woods date back 15 years. All I can say is that it is quite stiff, but feels and sounds like a pretty standard wood.

I actually don’t know if it’s the same shape as Ishod’s, but I don’t think so for whatever reason. It’s a good deck I’ve got no regrets, the nose/tail are a little more tapered than I like, I prefer more squared out shapes, but it’s good to mix it up.

It is the same as ishods. As far as I’ve ever heard and seen. I think Bobby tried ishods and that’s how he got into the twin tail shape

The nose and tail appear a little longer than the Ishod shape…but pictures/perspective. I mean, you’d think a lifetime of staring at pictures of skateboards and videos of skateboard tricks…but nooo

I was wondering if the slick was noticeable, when it came to the pop. For perspective, my last slick was a Dave Duren, and it sounded like a wet log. From jump.

Yep sure did while on the Real / Krooked OZ (AU) tour a while back.

The Ishod Real and Bobby Krooked are the same deck size, shape and everything in the 8.3 size.

A few people who only skate the twins, specifically those 8.3 DLX twins, have said the slick treatment on the boards is a tiny little bit heavier and slightly different in how it skates, but nothing they didn't get used to easily enough and they liked it more than the normal board anyway for slides and tech stuff.  One guy says it makes it last longer, but that might be more in his head than anything to do with the board itself.

It felt the same to me, having a skate on one of their boards.  That one in particular that was already well used at the time, for the quick run I had on it, slid well on a slippery feeling metal ledge but my normal board slid well enough too.

I also have a used normal 8.3 twin, so I sort of knew what it was going to be like anyway, but they are a good board if you are wanting a twin in that size.

I really like how tapered the twin nose/tail is on that one. Is the 8.5" similar?

The 8.5 twin is way more rounded and no taper at all, which some people in the Twin Tails thread have commented on a lot:

Probably start at the back but it is in there somewhere.

Thanks, all the info I needed. Not specifically interested in a twin but I do love a tapered nose and tail.

I also really like the look of some taper. Egg is a little bit much for me. I’m a little Goldielocks with it.

Thanks @Woodshop for the feedback!

I also wonder what the twin tail is like…I’m not so sure I’ll be able to nollie off of the tail. Gentle slap-person might note that I do have a few skateboards that have a tail and I could test this…but I’d feel weird. In a moment of desperation I tried to do a switch tre using the tail as the tail. Felt like wiping with the other hand or something. I really like trying nollie/switch stuff (flatground, .5X pine speed), nollie is my warm up/new deck tester, but I really need that more shallow pop. Or do I. Blah blah, two of rad skaters on twins, I’m influenced.

Muscle memory is a crazy thing, so if I am skating a tail as a nose, sure I can do it, but it feels all kinds of weird to me, as does skating a twin, which just seems like it is missing something - again, that is to me personally, not for anyone and everyone.

Others love them, but I am most definitely a "regular board" skater, as I am so used to a nose and a tail, even considering I like to pop shovit off the nose to get the board back to normal too, which trips some people out, but that is how I prefer to do them.

Everyone will have a preference, but at least it is easy enough to skate the normal board both ways and see what feels better / easier doing things from the nose or the tail, both regular or switch, then make up your own mind.

That "Felt like wiping with the other hand" analogy is perfect for this too!!!!

Just gave my set up away to a non-profit that hooks homeless kids up. Good Excuse to work my way through the pile.

8.4 (smallest deck in years and first popsicle in a year)
AF1 55s
Real 3 ply risers (Venture version, sanded down to fit Ace)
55mm 99a F4 Tablets (great to be back on F4s after a brief flirtation with Loophole)
Old Bones Swiss 6

Bought some Thunders on sale which I haven't skated in a long time so I went ahead and threw a setup together.

Evisen 8.5
Thunder 149s
52mm Spitfire F4 Tablets
Bones Reds, and Jessup grip.
As a tablet fan, @Frank and Fred, those 55mm look good!

Get hungry on it!
