anyone here ever freeze their wheels? i'm contemplating doing it again with a new set of streetburners i got - i did it on my last set and now realize that they've pretty much remained at their original 52mm for the last year and a half

I did that with a pair of street burners, left them in the freezer for about 5 months. They lasted me way longer than I though I would and skated really good. I suggest you do it.

how would they last longer if you kept them at a low temperature for 5 months? if it's yellowing, it's caused by light. if you kept them in a dark drawer it would do the same effect. it's not like 5 months of freezing a wheel would have any effect for more than a few minutes on the wheel after it's been brought out from the freezer.

The last wheels I bought were spitfire park burners and that was at the end of last summer when I flat spotted some bones and the only wheels at the shop over 50mm where those spitfires. The size has definitely decreased and they're pretty yellow, but it's a really weird flat spotting bones and then having spitfires last this long because they're both basically unheard of.

Just got a new board and new wheels, I know everyone complains about spitfire but I had them for cheap last summer so as long as they last it's ok.



5 Boro 8.375 (really like the shape, I skated 3 8.25 Magenta in a row and the concave is a little bit mellower, bigger and rounder nose but smaller tail, I'm thinking about stepping up to 8.5)
Spitfire street burners 54 mm
Ace 44 with bones hard (no matter what kind of bushings I use they seem to be always pretty loose but It's ok fo me)
Mix of bones reds and a some other brand

Right now I'm sk8ing some Tonik S with gamechangers 2.0, the suede is holding up really well but i get a hole in the sole quickly than usual.

Baker gets hated on every now and then but I've always backed the company.
I can never seem to find a baker deck in 8.5 though, no matter how hard I look around here. Do they even make boards in 8.5? Everytime I look online at deck sizes all their boards max out at 8.475 (not that .025 is that much of a difference at all in size, but still)
