The first Al Davis pro model with the head hunters graphic? I think it was ps stix. I had (have, board is beyond worked but I kept because hording and also I really really like the shape) the 8.125 ish x31.6 (I think?) with a 14.12 wb. Been awhile so my memory could be wrong, and the board, much like me in my old age, has shrunk. Pointy shape that many didn't like, I like the pointy tho. Reminds me of some old girl/guy/sheffey (toy soldier) shapes. I was just searching for a dead stock of this board today. The size you are referencing, if memory serves, looks like a slightly narrower version of the mccrank shape, not far off from that girl shape you have mentioned before. Basically between a b-19 and a b-16. Or I could be totally full of shit. Probably. Actually for sure I'm wrong, just looked up that 8.3 shape and it was listed as +32" length, but some thought the ps boards maybe measured smaller than listed? Minister of disinformation over here

Thanks dudes for the kind words about our webstore.
I do enter all the products myself, and painstakingly measure every deck, ensuring correct wheelbase, length and width.
Deluxe measures their decks without holding down the tape to the deck and requested we list them that way.
Everything else I hold the tape measure down because I like to know the exact surface area of the board.
And wheelbase is pretty important to me, so I feel everyone should know it as well.
I'm still gonna blow it from time to time, but I try to make sure it's accurate.

Haven't had a PS stix board in a while. Definitely a strange shape compared to all the DLX stuff I've been riding. The tail is about the same length as Real's 8.25 full. but it doesn't begin to kick up for a another couple inches behind the bolts which makes the tail feel really small. Not sure if I like it just yet.

Spitfire F4 classics 52mm (probably closer to 49 by now)

Setup this FA board yesterday and was hyped

Then it started to delaminate after a 30 min flatground session

I sent the pic over to the FA webstore contact.  Anyone have experience with warranty issues through them?

Sent an email about a board delaminating and got a new one 2 days later. Just make sure they reply back.

Also is the top ply dual colored? The guys at Pitcrew said it has been happening a lot to the FA boards with 2 color top plys.

Yes it is.  Both the top and bottom plys are split colored.  Thanks for the heads up

Great looking board Steve. That's a total bummer that it delammed on you. Is that PS pressed?

Yup, PS.  Second PS board I've had delam on me in the first session recently.  I love the way PS boards feel but I'm done with them for the foreseeable future

That worries me a bit. Haven't had an issue with this Toy Machine yet and hope I don't. If it does then it looks like I'm gonna try Northern Co or something.

FA hit me back and they're sending me a replacement asap.  Might be a fluke defect but I have to give them props for quickly sorting it out without any hassle

Quasi did this for me recently regarding a delamination. Just asked for the PS serial number.

When Mother came out I decided to try one, as I hadn't had a PS Stix deck in over ten years and within half an hour their was a gap between plies big enough to fit a credit card in.

I had the same thing with a Mother board but it was about 4 weeks in, I took it back to the shop I bought it from and they replaced it no hassles.

Ducky: i think 159s are are great, not nearly as into 169s. I ride 159s on a 9"+ set up wth some extra rings and wide wheels. I can still get some flip tricks in and the turn/stability on 159s is rad. I enjoyed 159s on boards as small as a baker b-16. Just more versatility with sizes that I would actually ride. Not science alert: have felt like riding setups where the deck is equal to or greater than, the width of the wheel placement on the axle, gives me more leverage/more tippy. And if I'm riding a board that big I need the help.

I've been riding these 169s for a couple years. i had 159s also but i recently gave them to a friend, but I never had 159's on anything but a quasi 8.625 that I was riding a while back. I originally set up 169s on the quasi but it was too hot rodded. ever since Ive been rocking 169's on 875 or 9 inch popsicles. i assume if you have wider wheels like the conical full spits or some oj's it would work well

oh ok, yeah i get the board being bigger than the trucks thing, always feels better, yeah i snapped my first board yesterday so right now im trying to get another board for cheap online, i was riding a 8.8 with some thunder 151's, and the axles are pretty much flush, so i what i was thinking is that a 9" on 151's/159's it would fit like a 8.6 on some 149's, and also the other board i was thinking of getting was a 8.75 full shape real board, and i cant find it online anywhere for some reason, odd.

ok, yeah funny enough i have both the wheels you meotioned right now, ha, and thats good to hear, so with the 159's on the 9" did it have that ghost board effect where you couldn't see the wheels/axle on the side of it when you turned? thats the only thing im concerned with.

na i never had 159s on a 9, only the quasi that was an 8.625. I've seen people ride 159s on 9's tho, just never personally done it. i can imaging it would be fine, only thing is I know this creature looks like it has pretty deep concave so you might be able to see the wheels when you're turning if you know what i mean, since deeper concave is like more turned up on the sides.

Dumb question: I know the PS Stix 8.5 tapers smaller towards the back, but how wide is it over the front trucks?

Ugh, I really wanna get Dylan's FA board which is an 8.5 with a 14.5 WB but I just retired my 8.5 Welcome which is an 8.5 tapering down to 8.38 with a 14.75 WB on account that it's a bitch to flip, but I really did like the shape itself. Would a quarter of an inch on the wheelbase really make that big of a difference?
