I have a set of hollow thunders, i just started riding an 8.5 , would a lighter truck help with a bigger board?

I have a set of hollow thunders, i just started riding an 8.5 , would a lighter truck help with a bigger board?

It worked pretty well for me, I moved from indys stage XI to thunder lights on my second 8,5 and I felt better on board, also it was easy to flick
