With ace trucks too will prob feel like 13.5wb
[close]

I thought WB was distance between inner most mount holes
I think thats the official measurement but where the hangers sit on different brands will affect the feel within the initial measurement. So I think there's only a definite feel for wheelbase if you stick with a certain truck brand.

damn i have the 9" kader with 14.25 wheelbase and it feels short as fuck

i couldn't imagine a 13.75 -- that's mini territory

i'm about to set up an 8.25 cruiser with 14" wb and was having a tough time shaking the second thoughts

Rad setup.  How does that 13.75" WB feel?

My normal ride is a Quasi with a 14.75 wheelbase, Thunders, and sub-52mm wheels so it’s a huge difference. I had these Ace 55s laying around so I went short wb and big wheels to get a distinctly different feeling set up. Getting pop is proving to be difficult but it’s still very fun. All ollies are one-footers but that’s cool cause I’ve never been able to do that trick haha.

Has anyone skated the Dane1 shape? I've been skating my cruiser so much that I've been thinking about getting another setup that has harder wheels to alternate. Been skating the BA 9.25 board which is fine and it looks like the Dane1 is roughly the same shape with a shorter wheelbase.

I have my BA 9.25 on 169s with 60mm hot juice and occasionally switch out for 58mm spit classics. I see a bit of wheel on the 169 w/ 60mm so I think you could probably run 159s on it but I dont have a set to make sure. I like the BA shape alot as well. (I dont really see any wheel or atleast enough worth noticing when I have the classics on).

Sick! I have it on 169's on 55 mini hot juices and its so fun. I believe the wheelbase is 14.5? I just want a similar board with a smaller wheelbase. The dane1 is 14 1/8 too so its tempting.

I guess i just wanted an excuse to get another setup instead of swapping wheels haha

I have not skated it but I say go for that Dane1 shape. If I had the cash i’d probably have that board right now. The nose looks a bit more rounded then the BA shape which might be more fun depending on what your doing. Out of curiousity what duro are thinking of skating? I was thinking keyframes since i’ve been sitting on a set of 54s.

Since the Hot Juices are so wide I was thinking of either the tablets or conical fulls 54mm so I don't have to get risers. Although you can technically run the 55 hot juices with no risers I've come to a compete stop when I've tried to turn too quick. I think 99a is perfect. But for the cruiser the 55mm Hot juices with risers work fine for me. You can still flip the board fairly easy.

You should do it. I’m riding a Dane 1 with 169s and 60mm Spitfire Classics with 1/8 risers. It’s perfect.

Quick question for you more knowledgable folk:

What would be approx. wheelbase riding 14.18 WB deck and Independents?

Recently moved down to 14.12/14.18/14.25 decks with Indys and have been really digging it.

I love the pop and the mellow concave. still not sure if I like the GO23 or GO26 shape more. my last chocolate lasted me 4 months which is really long for me.

I’ve ridden both shapes.

The Dane1 is my current cruiser, with Indy 169’s and 60mm super juices and bronson raws. It’s perfect, and it is one of the most fun shapes I’ve ridden.

The BA shape is good with 159’s and I had 56 keyframes on it. It also was a good shape, and I might snag another.

Set up a Politic because I haven't had a South Central pressed board in years, but it's got a really flat nose that I didn't really notice when I grabbed it. It's feels like shit when you try to pop off the nose, like anti-pop. Skated it for not even 10 minutes doing nose slides. Just gonna go back to DLX 8.25's. Best shapes/concaves.

Yeah, I like the wood and shape, but that oddly flat nose was not working for me. It's also noticeably heavier than a BBS pressed deck. I'd like to try another South Central deck if I can find one from a deeper mold. I think the one that used to be their medium was perfect - this mold almost seems like it's meant for an old school shape with a small nose, hence the mellow kick on the nose. I'm too picky to be trying random shit anyway, gonna stick with what works.

don't just tease us with the top ply comment...

edit: I'm on a 14" wheelbase on ACES at the moment and while I hate long wheelbases, I don't think I could go below  that number ... maybe on thunders?
