Alien 8.5"
Indy 149
F4
Shorty's
Mob

Blazer Mid's I got for free too. Haven't backed the swoosh in a long time, but I have to say they feel and look nice. Really into the workshop right now as well. Montano's new part was sick

really like that series. looks like a setup i’d ride if it were a hair wider. good shit

I also loved this series but the wheelbases weren’t quite right for what I like.

Ok guys so this is the second time this has happened to me with bones bushings mediums.. does anyone else have them make a small click sound when the hanger turns one way or the other? I’m installing them and checking the tightness dialing all that in and everything feels so good under my feet but one of the bushings keeps making this clicking sound? Not sure if it’s not fitting in the truck right or what the deal is but it happened on my last set as well and only happens in my thunder 149 hi?? The OCD is making it impossible to deal with it any help would be insanely appreciated 🙏🏼🛹

It's the tiny black washer making contact with the kingpin threads. It'll go away eventually and doesn't affect performance.

DOA standard 7.75 14" wb with Jessup
Venture 5.2 stock bushings with no top washer.
Spitfire f4 Cardiel 53s, pretty sure they are 52 or 51 by now
Swiss 6, Bronze hardware ,Bobshirt sticker.

Frustrating getting used to 14" wb and mellower nose ,my previous board had a 13.8" wheelbase with a steep ass nose.

Top pic for the Alien 8.5. It certainly feels plenty full. Not much of a difference to me compared to my last board (Quasi 8.5, Jake Johnson Monster Truck model). The Alien does feel longer than the quasi for sure. 360 flips take a little more oomph to get around.

That nose looks fukcing massive!

Skated several of the AWS 8.5s and they have all had a huge nose and tail. They're usually 32.25"-32.375" with a 14.125" WB, so the nose ends up being like 7"-7.25" with a 6.75" tail.

Much appreciated. Definitely fuller than the last AWS I had. That tail does indeed look pretty long compared to what I usually ride, but I might give one a shot.

It’s more beat up now than this picture shows but this is my back to skateboarding after 7 years setup

Deck: “Reptile” brand blank 8x31.75. This brand seems to be the default blank here in Japan and its the only blank I’ve seen sold in legit skate shops here. A shop worker told me it’s same factory as Santa Cruz, they’re stamped made in China so I’m assuming it’s dwindle. It’s got mellow kicks and concave and a very standard popsicle shape.

Trucks: Indy stage 9 129. I snagged these off my ancient board that my cousin left at my parents house years ago. I used to only skate old tensor so while these are said to be the worst stage indies they feel great to me.

Wheels: spitfire ff tablet 54mm 99d. First time riding ff, love them but they slide much less than expected. I’ve never been a good powerslider but I can’t get these to slide at all.

Bearings: MxM , some Japanese brand that also makes decks, they were the cheapest ones at the shop and they are the same as any other cheap bearing

I am dead broke but plan on getting a 8.5 deck, Indy 149 or ace 44 next. I rode 7.75s back in the day but the big deck feels great and I mostly do 180s and kickflips and boardslides while cruising around Tokyo. I have tiny 7.5 feet but want to go big right away.

i learned to powerslide on radial slims, they loose grip right when you want them to and the slide is very controllable. try them out next time you get a little extra spending money for your setup

Thanks for the advice! I think I’ll do that although I’m hesitant about switching to a slimmer wheel because I skate around the city on all sorts of weird surfaces(deeply grouted tile, chunky asphalt etc).

Both 8.62 BAs

Left has 55s (no inside washers) and 58mm F4 Classics, Rockin Ronald bearings
Right has 44s (extra inside washers)  and some worn down conicals, probably around 54 or 55 mix matched bearings.

1/8" risers on both.

Haven't skated in a couple months, won't be for a while but this is what I have set-up regardless.

Krooked 'Ronnie's Custom Ride' 8.5 x 32 14.375wb
Ace 44 (4 washers on the inside, my nuts barely stay on lmao)
F4 Conical Full 99 54mm (soon to be 56mm Classic Fulls)
Reds
Shortys 7/8"

might want to get your nuts checked out. sounds like a wicked std aids part 3

Loved that parade graphic, I have two. One I skated and one that was hanging for a long time but then took down.
I want to set it up but I just love that board and that Brian is on anti hero so I sorta want to hang on to it

Got my first Quasi board over the weekend. So far I'm liking it!

Quasi 8.25
Thunder 149
Spitfire F4 53mm 99d (at least they were 53mm)
Bones Super Reds
Mob Grip
Converse Louie Lopez

This is my favorite shape, been riding it for about a year now. I scoop up all the Quasi in these dimensions as soon as they get in the shop.

I skate boards between 8.5" up to 9" shaped boards. Generally, I think I prefer 44s.
Honestly on this shape 44s are too narrow and 55s are too wide. So I use the 44s for street and the 55s for bowls. When/if Ace make an 8.75" truck I'll be set. That's why I often use Thunder 151s...

Same. I got it when it came out but always intended to skate it. Now is the time.

Love the 8.25" proto (though I do wish it was a bit shorter). Shape is great. Paired it with Thunder 147 TIs with bones softs and ollies were so effortless.

I've looked at them, the dimensions on the nose and tail seem off. Maybe it was just the ones I looked at but the nose seemed way longer and steeper
